Details

An ambitious anthology film featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children's educational ABC books, the film comprises 26 individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. GamerTab That was an excellent one.
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
encyes This odd, quirky, disturbing, disjointed, irrational, possibly immoral, and offbeat series of VERY short stories containing each letter of the alphabet is highly entertaining if not for it's mere uniqueness. Many stories - like several anthologies - don't make a lot of sense, but are amusing. If you can stand - and stomach - the subject matter, this film can be a quick trip through the violent, sick and twisted alphabet that has never been seen before in any grade school for sure! This film - for good or bad, has a little something for every body: A is for Apocalypse, C for Cycle, and S is for Speed will make you think; F is for Fart and K is for Klutz might make you giggle, and I is for Ingrown and L is for Libido will surely make you turn away.
boris_kolarov Before seeing The ABCs of Death I saw the anthology horror films V/H/S and I was pleasantly surprised by them (okay, the third one wasn't as good as the other two but it wasn't so bad). I wanted to enjoy TABCsoD but I couldn't.Pluses: The film has a really awesome idea. From the 26 short films there were some good ones: B is for Bigfoot, D is for Dogfight, H is for Hydro-Electric Diffusion and probably more (I don't want to spoil the names of the short films). It was nice to see some clay animations, that was done nicely. Some of the shorts at least had an interesting idea or something cool, like the robot in V is for Vagitus. Also X is for XXL is a short, that is something unique and it leaves some messages in your head, even if you don't like it at first.Minuses: The film is a wasted potential. Many of the short films were bad like W is for WTF! and Z is for Zetsumetsu (WTF were these?). The running time feels more than 2 hours. I felt kinda disappointed from the filmThe ABCs of Death is a failed experiment. Little amount of short films were good and it isn't well spent 2 hours. From BAD 1 to EXCELLENT 6 I give it WEAK 2. If you're looking for a good anthology horror film check out V/H/S 1 and 2 or The ABCs of Death 2 (though I recommend the V/H/S films more).
jlthornb51 Imaginative, creative, audacious, and mesmerizing horror film that rivets one to their seat from the opening shot to the shattering finale. Powerful anthology-like stories from some of the most brilliant directors in the cinema world will set you back on your heals in wonderment. This is cinema at its absolutely most stunning. Often shocking, sometimes funny, but always fascinating, this ranks as a milestone in horror films, setting the bar for all who attempt to follow. Seldom if ever does a horror film have such impact that the entire film community is shaken to its very core with nothing ever being the same again.
ckmfox Having just watched this I wondered how many of the directors had actually forgotten what their short film was supposed to be about, and that this was intended to be a horror anthology. I thought that about five of the shorts could be considered comedy rather than horror, which was disappointing. Although two of the funny shorts I.e. K for Klutz and T for Toilet were funny and entertaining but belonged on a show like Robot Chicken rather than a horror anthology. One other funny short was N for Nuptials which was just so funny and crazy. My personal horror faves of these 26 shorts were D for Dogfight and X for XXL. Both of these were very good indeed with plenty of horror and thought-provoking too. Dogfight was my personal fave and the quality of the visuals was amazing. I was expecting some proper horror and shocks from the Japanese directors involved in the project and I was shocked, but mostly not in a good way. F for Fart (or should that be Farcical) was shockingly bad and I would personally not wish my name, if I had directed it to be linked with such guff. L for Libido was shocking too, but in a good way and was more like what I expected, with its sexual deviancy and all sorts of wrongness. P for Pressure was entertaining and shocking about a woman forced into prostitution to make some money for a birthday present for her daughter, and had a twist I wasn't expecting, which was good. However, overall I found myself disappointed. Too many forgettable shorts, a few lazy ones and just not enough horror. Also a good short can be shocking, suspenseful, and thought provoking, but I would say less than a quarter of this collection managed any of those qualities. Now to watch ABCs of Death 2.
