Excellent but underrated film

It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

This 68-minutes horror/action movie spoof is often regarded as the last film of legendary Brandon Lee.The star of "The Crow" and "Rapid Fire" has a small cameo in it as the man waiting in the line to the night club.It lasts only 15 seconds or so.Richard Holm simply asked Lee to make a cameo appearance in this film and he gladly agreed. On the other hand there is plenty of splatter and violent action in this low-budget gem.The film spoofs "DieHard","Alien","A Clockwork Orange","Darkman","The Little Mermaid","RoboCop","Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and finally Swedish exploitation classic "Thriller:A Cruel Picture".There are aliens, whores, plenty of fighting plus a good amount of blood and gore.8 out of 10.

This was an enjoyable movie with lots of violence, and quite good effects for being an low-budget independent production. There is a lot of cameos too - mostly Swedish celebrities who were well-known in the eighties, and Brandon Lee of course (he has two short lines if i recall it correctly.)In English, the title of the movie would translate as "Sex, Lies, and Video Violence", which of course is inspired by the title of Soderberghs "Sex, Lies, and Videotape". At the time the movie was made, and before, there was a lot of debate in Sweden about "Video violence", that is, all the violence that could be seen on VHS videos, and how that would affect the youth, what measures should be taken to stop this,...

Definetly one of my favorites when it comes to splatter-filled humour, Richard Holm & co show that you don´t need a lot of money to create something wonderfully funny and violent. Spoofing a lot of films along the way, Mikael Beckman has to fight off the Clockwork Orange-gang, Frigga from "Thriller", the Alien-monster, a German terrorist from "Die Hard" and Robocop(superbly played by football expert Tony Johansson). And yes, it IS the genuine Brandon Lee in his last starring appearence.A very hard film to come by, but if you get the chance, don´t miss it!

Sex, Lögner och Videovåld is quite a movie. Yes, the plot is mostly about showing gory effects, but the only way you can actually dislike the movie, is if you take it seriously. Personally, I found it hilarious, and the cameos by a huge bunch of (mostly Swedish) celebrities, makes this a must-see. Besides, this is actually Brandon Lee's last movie, so any fan of his, should see this.
