jacobjohntaylor1 I can't believe people think this is funny. It is not funny. It just sick and stupid. It worst then Scary movie 2 and that was awful. I have seen all the movies they are making fun of. Most of them are good. But they did not put down our insult those movie they just were not funny. There probably like the movies they fun of. They are probably bigger horror movie fans then I am. Even with the crappy horror movies they made fun of they did not point out of stupid they were they just did stupid collage hummer. The bad horror movies they made fun of were the better movies. If like comedy that is not brain dead don't see this movie.
bowmanblue Scary Movie 3 is the latest in a long line of 'parody' films which lampoon either a specific film, or a genre in general. This time the franchise takes a pop at (horror classic) 'The Ring' and (sci-fi thriller) 'Signs.' The original Scary Movie was primarily lampooning Scream, which allowed the film to follow a single plot line effectively. However, now it tries to merge two different films together, the jokes (most of which are 'hits' as opposed to 'misses') may be there, but the story seems a little jumbled. It's generally the opinion that Part 3 of the franchise is not as good as the first, but largely better than the second. If you're a fan of the series, then you probably know what you're in for, or if you'd like to see either Signs or The Ring poked fun at, then this might be the one for you.Although, most of the main laughs come from the over-the-top hurting of a small boy (it's funnier than it sounds, honestly).
callanvass Scary Movie officially entered into the realm of P.G, but I actually thought it was relatively OK for what it was. You get what you deserve when you decide to watch these movies (Except for Scary Movie 2; nobody deserves that on their worst day) It spoofs things like Signs, The Ring, and even 8 Mile, and manages to connect them altogether. Familiar faces such as Charlie Sheen, Pamela Anderson & Jenny McCarthy (relegated to cameos in the beginning) and Leslie Nielsen show up here and it was a lot of fun to see. The old dependable like Anna Farris & Regina Hall deliver big time. Anna did her usual shtick and it was a delight to watch whilst her chemistry with Regina was on. Charlie Sheen also does this all with a straight face and he was a hoot! Gotta love Charlie; Simon Rex is hilarious as our awkward hero George. Drew Mikuska is in many of my favorite scenes. He was a riot as Anna Farris's kid. Anthony Anderson & Kevin Hart didn't add much to the proceedings in my view, though. I also didn't find the 8 mile spoof very funny at all. It came across as extremely flat. A lot of the movie did, but it also had its share of hits as well. Keep an eye out for a Denise Richards cameo. Final Thoughts: I thought it was OK for what it was. It certainly isn't a laugh riot, or nearly as good as the original, but I managed to get some low brow chuckles from it. I would rank it as second best in the series, personally5/10
canadian58 In the Scary Movie franchise, you have to turn your brain off when entering the theater. This third entry is no different, although it has been dialed down to a PG-13 level to attract a younger audience. This made me extremely skeptical when going to see this, but since it had Charlie Sheen, I gave it a chance, and I'm glad I did. The first Scary Movie had a few scenes where I cried, I was laughing so hard. The second didn't quite reach that level, but was a decent enough time-passer. This entry has a couple of monstrous laughs, and constant chuckles throughout. It's consistently funny, although some of the jokes miss completely, there are so many gags it's barely even noticeable. The special effects are terrible, but it doesn't matter here. One thing I really like about this movie, is that there are so many familiar faces in the cast. Of course, Anna Faris and Regina Hall return, added to the cast are Charlie Sheen, Leslie Nielsen, Anthony Anderson, George Carlin, Queen Latifah, and Eddie Griffin. It's fun to see so many good actors come together in a silly meaningless comedy like this.Even though it's dialed down in terms of crude sex jokes, this movie isn't any less funny than the first, and hands down, it's way better than the second. 7/10
