ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
srdjan_veljkovic Except that it takes a little too long and is slow to start, the only significant problem with this movie is that it is very confined to the personal trainer world. If you don't know any of these people, you won't get the movie, it will seem boring and pointless. But, if you know at least one personal trainer, this movie gives an interesting and decently executed look into their world. You'll recognize a lot of behavior of personal trainers in the actions of Guy Pearce and Cobie Smulders. Yes, it's not very funny, but that is also the point. But, it has funny moments, again, this being the point.Other than that, you can see an interesting story about how different people influence each other's lives in surprising ways and also how people can act very wrong towards one another for prejudices, wrong assumptions and similar silly, internal, things.
suite92 The Three Acts:The initial tableau: At his local gym, rich but out of shape Danny gets directed to the owner, Trevor. Trevor interviews Danny, then sets up a schedule with Lorenzo for Danny. Kat (Trevor's former lover) talks Trevor into letting Danny be her client instead.Delineation of conflicts: Kat and Trevor are still attracted to each other, but Trevor wants Kat at arm's length since they are so mismatched. Danny wants to be with Kat, but Kat does not want to be with him. Trevor wants to expand his business, but has all these chaotic elements to deal with. Danny seems to be embracing discipline (diet and exercise, supposedly), but he shows little impulse control (giant TV, newly purchased classic guitar, huge house, weed, paying the gym a year in advance, views sample exercise videos as porn, pays a young man 300 USD to connect up his TV, and so on). Add in some throw away characters with the attendant noise.Resolution: Things move forward slowly in jumps, as in 'where did that come from?'
steph_steph86 Watched this with my boyfriend and I actually enjoyed it a lot. The beginning of the movie seemed a little strange and at some points you do wonder what direction this movie is taking, not to mention the fact that Danny is a bit weird and you wonder if it's going to be a movie with a creep. Soon you realise it's more a guy who is just lost, trying to find a connection with someone and finding love. Yes he's a little antisocial and doesn't quite understand common social cues but hey life is not always easy right. But Colbie was really good in this role. I've always enjoyed her acting and she looks great in this movie. I think Colbie and Pearce did a good job and had pretty good chemistry. Pearce played the part of a 'tough guy' quite well My favourite part was how towards the end of the movie you actually end up believing in love again. It's a pretty quirky movie though and the boyfriend admitted that at some points he lost the plot sometimes but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The soundtrack is pretty good as well.
Aktham Tashtush Well it started a bit slow, the plot it grows gradually until it peaks when Danny makes the surprising romantic dinner for Kat but there were absolutely no comedy bits before that for 40-50 minutes and as for a comedy genre movie this would really ruin the structure of the movie and distracted me a lot while i was so drastically trying to find a scene i could laugh at. It went all drama and just a little romance here and it was so expected the storyline itself got no surprises or any catchy flipping scenes . ,, and that was that.As for the cast; they were all engaging but not that role attractive if i might say, Guy Pearce and Kevin Corrigan were good when i saw Cobie Smulders names on the poster i expected it to be a How i met your mother good ,, but nope .. not even a 10% of the comedy.Overall, i watched .. yep it happened ,, but would i recommend it to my bitter nemesis .. hell yeah :D if i want him to die out of boredom .. okay maybe not that much .. but still don't expect a lot out of it.
