Redwarmin This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
Protraph Lack of good storyline.
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Adeel Hail Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
T_J_Yellow This movie has been my hands down favourite for as long as I can remember. I originally had it home recorded on VHS and I cannot count the number of times it was watched until the tape finally snapped. I had received a DVD copy for Christmas one year along with a Rad Racing shirt. Not sure where it came from but I can definitely look into it if anybody requests. The movie itself is a great story of overcoming obstacles and working hard at what you really love to do. I enjoy the fact that it has the bad guy that isn't out to destroy the world and he becomes good in the end. You just don't see movies like this anymore these days. The movie is amazing and it also has a great soundtrack for its time. Still ready to "Break the Ice" whenever I need to pump up for something. The John Farnham songs are the best.
KIEZER SOZE I Loved it .. The Beginning Chase with The Cop .. The Simple Plot with Bart as The Bad guy or Competition .. The Races .. The Tricks .. The Love Interest aka (*Lori Loughlin*) The Mom aka Talia Shire aka Rockys Girl (lol).. The Soundtrack .. The Dude who Played The Teacher MR. HAND from Fast Times At Ridgemonnt High in (1982) which I saw I think The Same Year RAD came out aka (1986) & Even though I was only 6 I liked & Understood it for The Most Part .. But anyways .. Yeah Great Movie .. Even if I did Not see it as a Child & Seen it The First Time as an Adult I think I would still Enjoy it & I would Recommend it to Anybody Wanting to see a Simple but Entertaining Movie
gaijinguitarhero Born in 91', this movie somehow manages to make me miss the 80's. and I think this is the main point that I felt watching the movie, is its sheer simplicity and innocence. Its like one of those movies you see on Disney channel, except its so genuinely made that you can't help but like it. From the quirky characters of Cru's sister, to the deep connection that somehow arises between the out-of-town Christian and the locally raised Cru, this film has a lot to offer for the viewers to pass their boring Sunday hours away. I think it'd be great to watch with a date.To convey the feeling you get when watching this film to the mainstream, its very much like The Goonies, or maybe even E.T, except not as expensive of sets (was ET expensive?.) What I mean is, it makes wonderful use of the natural landscapes, save the race tracks and all. I love "hick" and rural towns, so it was great. I felt like I was riding a bike in those old sunny days as a child, not a trace of clouds in the sky.Rather than being literal here, I'm just trying to convey the fun feeling you get watching this movie; a feeling you CERTAINLY cannot get from recent films. This is a movie that was able invite smiles BECAUSE it was in the 80's, and this is what makes this movie that much more precious.
eclip5e One of the paradigms of 1980s movies, I saw it when I was around 7 or 8 years old. This movie influenced me to become the man I am today, a professional bmx biker, sponsored by Mongoose.Shortly after seeing this film, I traded my banana cruiser in for a sweet new bmx . From that point on, I was terrorizing my neighbors with my rude paper route delivery antics. I had my route so well planned and executed that I too could ride a garbage trucks front-end loader over a fence. It took a few years, but at the 1997 X Games, I was approached by the then-head of the Mongoose racing team about potential sponsorship. When asked "Who do you race for?" I used the words of Cru, I took of my sunglasses, looked him in the eyes and said "I race for me". He knew I meant business, and signed me for a 5 year contract right there, handing me 5 million dollars in cash, on the spot.
