Alicia I love this movie so much
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
M MALIK Raaz is the best Indian horror film ever made there are new horror films in India coming but nothing can surpass this is terms of suspense, music & the story.this is a remake of Harrison ford film what lies beneath but they took the story & made their own Indian version of it.the cast was new & superb here Dino Morea & Bipasha Basu looked so great together.i was a fan of them & wish they were a real life couple this movie made me a fan of them.it gained them a lot of fans in Pakistan & other countries also.upon releasing this film has gained a cult status in India & Pakistan the songs of this film became a huge hit in 2002 along with kasoor 2001,gupt 1997.daud 1997 & dhadkan 2000.i know this because i am a huge bollywood fan.& have these dvds & music of this films they are my favoritesthe story is about a couple in India things unfold when Sajnana(bipasha) had an accident on the road & she decides to live in rural area the rest film you'll have to see yourself.the acting was great specially by Ashutosh Rana & malini sharma.my rating is 10/10 just take my advice buy this film & you will love it there are sequels to this film like raaz 2 2009 & raaz 3 2012 but they are worst films compared to this.raaz is excellentDo you want to want to know the secret? silvan-desouza Horror films were few by 2000, except RGV and few makers hence RAAZ clicked in 2002. The film in true bhatt tradition had hit music, a new couple(real life pair that time) and a horror story. Of course it's a remake of Hollywood What Lies Beneath? After the success of GHULAM, KASOOR Vikram Bhatt gave another hit RAAZ. The film gathered tremendous buzz due to it's hot promos which was rare those days in films. RAAZ starts off straightaway unlike those days films and comes to the point, No dancing around trees. The first half slowly and gradually involves you though you have the typical Bollywood horror like chandeliers dropping blood, windows opening and banging.etc The romance between Dino and Bips is limited to flashbacks and 2 songs in this half and the focus is on scaring the audiences which the film did succeed. The film sort of created a new trend of bringing back horror to Hindi films. The interval point does shock you and the second half besides a few hiccups manages to succeed too. The entire scene where Bips is attacked by the ghost in the forest and also Ashutosh and Shruti getting attacked is superb, Another is the flashback which startles you The climax however disappoints, though well executed and scary but suddenly the ghost turning dormant and falling unconscious looks odd Direction by Vikram Bhatt is superb Music by Nadeem Shravan was a big hit, Jo Bhi Kasmein, Aapke Pyaar mein(sung brilliantly by Alka) Tum Agar and Kitna Pyaara all stand out Yahaan pe sab shanti hai is superb tooAmongst actors Dino Morea after his abmysal debut in Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi(1999) where he was credited as Siddharth,is better here but still needs to work on his expressions and body lang. His voice(as usual) was dubbed by Vikram Bhatt Bipasha Basu after her debut in AJNABEE got her first heroine role and she does wonders though one wishes she toned down in several scenes. her dubbing is horrible by someone else. Bips didn't dub for herself till 2004 Amongst rest Shruti Ulfat is good, Vishwajeet Pradhan is unintentionally hilarious Ashutosh Rana excels in his role, Anang Desai is adequate Ali Asgar and Mink are okay in their cameos. Malini Sharma does a good job surprising she never worked again in films. Pratima Kazmi is okay
Herag Halli After you have seen endless popsicle movies with one Clown who self proclaims himself as the greatet actor and the imbeciles of the media who praises him to the hilt that is decadance of an Industry and you begin to wonder the state of the Industry, then comes along movies that puts your faith back in the Hindi movies and Raaz is one of them. Consummate actors like Aushotosh Rana,The haunting melody of the music that was the staple of the yester years, the location (Ooty or Ootacamund, a hill station the Indian Switzerland),the Ace direction by one of the top directors, good looking actors, the thrill of watching a movie is back. Raaz is one of the best romantic thriller after "Bees Sal Baad" a classic of the sixties.
Pedro-37 Man, I really love those songs in Bollywood-films. But here, they don't work. "Raaz" is a Mystery-Thriller à la "What Lies Beneath" and I just didn't dig it that they would sing in between. But ... the song sequences take place in Switzerland so at least my local pride got soothed :)The story delivers the goods. It's suspenseful, well told, even better photographed and OK acted. The two main stars make a splendid couple. Dino Morea has aphysique to die for and Bipasha Basu is beauty impersonated. Very nice to look at indeed. I was more annoyed by the Professor (Ashutosh Rana) however. In thebeginning, there is a scene where he rages against doctors completely unprovoked. His ethno-medeicine talks was not only a bore, it was also wrong in content. And why did he have to scream all the time? But fortunately, he's not the main focus. One final thing: I'd have loved some juicy sex scenes. Here are two amazingly beautiful actors and they have a lot of love scenes together. But they don't even kiss. They just hold each other ... and talk. Or sing. Booooring. Why not spicing it up with some flesh? I know, I know, it's not some cheap Hollywood skin-pic, but then why tease at all?Overall, a nice movie with minor flaws. But for the actors and the camera work alone, it's worth a look.Rating 7/10
