Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
marcgilfriends Within 7 minutes, I felt a sudden change of emotion that most hourly movies can't do to me. Without words and in adorable style it speaks of love, effort and destiny. This is such a simple yet wonderful piece of art. The story itself is simple and straightforward and it gives warmth to your heart and won't let go as you smile. Because the color, music and movement contains emotions that would really melt your heart. The story shows hopefulness, frustration, disappointment, excitement, and joy because of its ending. This is a really good short film, cheesy but a must watch film to share to your friends and families.
acingst This film is made by Walt Disney Studios in 2012. This film is short animation's movie. Movies full-length it is not made in a color but black and white. Characters do not speak even once. Sound effects are all sound that are sound running of the train, sound the paper fluttering and background music since the middle. A man who hold a lot of paper is standing at station of the tram in the city where is high –rise buildings, similar to New York. He seems sad. After the train behind him has passed, a piece of paper flies from somewhere, the paper is caught in his an arm. Then, a lady is chasing the paper and passing in front of him. After that she stands next to him. Another train comes to their back. At that time, a piece of paper that he had flies and gets caught in the face of the lady. When the man takes the paper, in the paper are marked with her lipstick. They smile each other, but, the lady gets on the train to leave him. He cannot forget her. He folds a lot of paper airplane using the documents at work. It is drawn rebellious and romance of a man who tried to work in a film.
bbb24 I like this short film. Paper is a key item in this film. A man who has a lot of paper meets a beautiful woman. A piece of paper hits the girl and they meet. After that, he finds the woman opposite his office. He tries to fly paper airplane to her. However he can't. I like this scene. Because tries to hard and I cheered for him when I watched this film. Finally, paper airplanes lead them and they meet again. I like the scenes of paper airplanes flying. Because papers move like dancing. It is very beautiful. I think this film's story line is nice. There is no dialog, but I understand character's feeling. I want to know their next story in the end of the short film.
TheLittleSongbird Perfect to go with Wreck It Ralph, which was one of Disney's best films since the Renaissance, and a great contrast to it as well. The animation and music are especially good in Paperman. The music is subtly sparkling and nostalgically whimsical, it fits beautifully and matches the story and characters nuance for nuance. The animation is outstanding, it meshes black and white sketches and computer animation(with the only other colour an effective red) and the two styles blend really well. The black and white colours look wonderful with an atmospheric soft grain, even the magic at the end which didn't look fake at all. There's symbolism too and a lot of it but not in a way that's odd or out of place. The story is one that might not work for a few(like with the magic) but one that most people should have no problem with, it has a set-up that has been done numerous times but the way it's told is simply but not simplistically and with much emotion and heart. And all without the characters uttering a single word, which is testament to how vividly and the colourful the characterisations came to life. The characters are familiar and somewhat archetypal but are written with such nuance and colour that that becomes irrelevant. Paperman was genuinely touching and didn't ever feel manipulative, I admit I was teary-eyed when it finished because the story really connected with me and the animation was so beautifully done. Overall, beautiful and touching short that deserved its Oscar, not one to be recycled. 10/10 Bethany Cox
