Raetsonwe Redundant and unnecessary.
Bereamic Awesome Movie
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
wgeddings I'm a 43 year old father in a small Southern town. Just saying that so you will understand that I am not the target audience for this type of movie. I ignored it at the theater and had no plans to ever watch it. However, after enjoying National Lampoon's Dorm Daze, I figured I would give it a try at the rental store. I am glad I did.The previews and such are not entirely truthful about this movie. It appears to be 2 young guys out to scam 2 older women. While it is that, it is also 2 older women out to scam 2 young guys who are some of the dumbest criminals ever. The "old women being sexy" angle is not played up nearly as much as you would think and rather than make fun of them, they seem to be making just as much fun of stereotypes. This is not an Oscar movie or one with long lasting deep plots but it is a decent way to laugh on a rainy day. You will not split your sides laughing but the pace is good and the jokes funny rather than silly most of the time. While this is not a movie I am sorry I missed at the theater, and perhaps not one I will go out and buy, it was one that I enjoyed watching and felt well worth the rental. Just because the cover and premise seem so silly, don't just pass it by.
kooleshwar the plot line of this movie offered great promise. it made me think a couple of stupid guys marrying some old hags that going to be funny, gross but funny. But like almost all recent national lampoon movies save for Van Wilder this movie lets your expectations down. That doesn't mean that this movie doesn't have its funny moments but those moments, and especially the end leave you with the feeling, That Could Have Been Funnier. the movie also lacks the bevy of bikini clad and unclad beauties that most national lampoons movies have. Nikki is a hottie though but she isn't enough to increase the ratings. all in all a good movie if you cant think of anything else, but it cant be called THE last resort, its like the movie you take before you opt for something worse like Jason X or something.
Robert W. National Lampoon's has been around a long time. Animal House, the vacation series, perhaps even Van Wilder was when National Lampoon films were on top and raked in the cash. Now they seem to hit below the belt with cheap straight to video films that are usually a home for TV actors and actress' to go to make some cash. Kudos to them. Doesn't make them less funny just less popular. GoldDiggers or LadyKiller as it's known on IMDb was a cheap, slapstick, good for a chuckle, a little comedy. It won't blow anyone away or stick around for classics reruns. The story goes like this...two best friends who grew up in an orphanage together and basically continually get handed a bad dose of bad luck in life try and come up with a scheme to change their luck. After their first couple of ideas turn out very badly, they find themselves in the company of two older ladies who appear to be very wealthy. The brainier leader of the two friends, Cal, hatches a plan to marry the two sisters and when the croak they will be heirs to all their money. Unfortunately what they don't know is that the two sisters don't have a penny. Their Uncle stole their entire fortune from them and now they are plotting to marry the two friends, insure them and then kill them. So the two pairs secretly set traps to try and knock off the other two. Unfortunately they all backfire and end up taking the wrong victims. Finally in a last ditch effort all four of them try to blast each other and discover that they are all trying to kill each other. After that the four of them hatch an all new plan as a team to break into their Uncle's mansion and steal back the sisters' family fortune. There are some really funny knee slapper moments at the start of the film and then a real lag in the middle. The true heart of the movie comes when the two sisters played by Louise Lasser and Renee Taylor, team up with their much younger husbands played by Will Friedle and Chris Owen. The four of them make a hilarious comedy team and all of them are actually quite talented comedians. Will Friedle is a far cry from his Boy Meets World (horribly annoying) character and he's actually funny and his comedy is well timed and his expressions are classic. Teamed up with Chris Owen, The Shermenator from the American Pie Series, you have a comedy team genius...for a low budget film. Despite the few humorous sexual scenes with the elderly ladies, the jokes stay remarkably out of the toilet which is unusual for a comedy let alone a National Lampoon's comedy. They also force and I mean brutal force the Lampoon's necessary breast shots into the film...they have no bearing on the film and yet they manage to write it in. They stick out...and not in a good way. Nonetheless it's not a bad film and probably worth seeing if you're just looking for a stupid, fun movie. Averagely done. 5/10
waannief I am 40 years old, a mom of four and I laughed my butt off at this movie!! If someone looks to this film for the old style National Lampoon quality, it's true they may be disappointed but its a new time and this film uses fresh faces and a fresh approach. Will Freidle is hysterical(esp. in the hard candy scene) and Chris Owen actually shows some promise as an actor. Finally proving he is more than just a unique set of features. I'd enjoy seeing more of Freidle in films. I think this is a good little dark comedy that won't be looked at as art by any means, just good fun. The veteran actresses steal the show. They really know how to keep the lines rolling. Will Freidle can finally say that he has outgrown his television start and is ready for the feature big-time.
