Bergorks If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
M MALIK i am a hardcore Vin Disel fan i have seen his every film & have collected few too like those Riddick & triple x series even fast and furious ones but this film knock around guys 2001 is complete nonsense not only Vin diesel get wasted here but along with him a very talented actor John Malcovich too i mean what the hell were these 2 doing here these guys are legends what made them sign the contract for this film is beyond me didn't hey read the script.there is no story in this film its just a wannabe mafia movie with same old cliché of gangsters fighting over money for those guys who are looking for action will be disappointed as there is none here so move along please the direction sucked also i mean this film tries too hard to be cool but fails the pace is way too slow & whoever wrote the dialogs needs to be fired.the whole cast of this film sucks & what is Seth green doing here this guy sucks in comedy as well so his serious performance is out of the question here.this is one of the worst films Vin Diesel ever done sorry but its a fact,plus the project looks cheaper then a usual Steven Seagal movie.i have to warn you guys here on IMDb please don't even think of buying this DVD it is a waste of time & moneyits films like this ruin the name of Hollywood my rating for Knockaround Guys 2001 is 1/10 Skipp It.
kankawin25013 Knockaround Guys is a crime film about the four sons of the big mobster who have to involve in the serious situation, their father's money.At first, I am "very" very surprised that Vin Diesel received the supporting role as Barry Pepper's "friends" (or actually the bodyguard). If you think he is the film's main hero as he portray in many movie, change your mind.For my comment, I think this movie had a big fault. They focused on their drama scene too much, so this very slow-paced film made me boring. They tried to show everyone's feeling even its not important for the film. Especially when Vin Diesel in his role, Taylor, beat up the bad guy in the bar. The film's crew made Diesel horribly due to his talkative dialog. I believe Steven Seagal will not act like this even he is in cold-blooded style.Some good side of this movie maybe on three things. First, the simply but very interesting plot. How the guys do when they make the mob boss' money loss? I am also very surprised about some plot twist in the film's climax which made me thrill. Second, all of the main actors act very good. Even Vin Diesel still show his professional skill in acting. Barry Pepper made us believe that he can be "adult" even his father (maybe) never trust him. John Malkovich also shows his delightfully role too.And the last one, the movie give us in the common opinion that you can find in many crime movies. "No one can rise in the bad side." The last scene of the film pleased me.However, if you want to see the crime film. You still have many choices.
predator_silver77 The Plot: Four Sons of big-time mobsters team up for one simple job: to retrieve a bag of cash in a small Midwestern town. Unfortunately, they get themselves into more trouble than anyone could imagine in Knockaround guys.My Spiel: Staring Barry Pepper, Vin Diesel, Seth Green, and Andrew Davoli as the 4 sons. This is a well put together group of actors that you could really believe to be friends. As I watched this movie I liked Vin Diesel hardass character, and have always been a fan of Barry Pepper from Saving Private Ryan movie. Though it's obvious that the movie tried to make you like Barry Pepper & Vin Diesel's characters more then any of the others. I have to say this movie was different stand on traditional mobster movies. Though it could of used some more ass kicking by Vin Diesel. My favorite Part was the bar scene with Vin's character talking his spiel about 500 fights and then kicks that guys ass. Though this movie was a good example of Enemy and friend. This was more of a movie of losing $h1t and trying to get it back in a small old country town, using the street smarts of there live in Brooklyn background. When worse comes to worse these guys just might be the best at this kind of group to get out of this disaster of random $h1t that's happened, or maybe they are just out of there element in this small Midwestern town, But doesn't help that one of them is going threw a crisis of if he wants to live this mob life to make his father proud, but with aspirations to be a sports agent failing because no one will hire him because of his name and his father's mob ties. Each of these 4 characters has a story and a solid background into each of there pasts and who that kind of person is.Knockaround Guys (2002) Review: 6/10
oldman007 I had some money and went down to the Video Hire place just don the road. I was n the mood for action, so I went into the action section. I saw "Knockaround Guys" in the action section so I hired it. I went home to find myself putting it on. I noticed that Vin Diesel was in it too. I'm not really a fan on Vin Diesel. I don't "hate" him, just don't care for him or find him "cool." I did like the rest of the cast. Barry pepper, Seth Green (I did it mainly for him), Dennis Hopper and John Malcovich. I finished watching the movie and I must say I was pretty impressed. I loved the story. It's about these Mafia guys that are trying to impress Dennis Hopper by giving him a bag of money. only problem is he bag gets lost thanks to Seth Green and they set out on an adventure to find it. I loved the cast. Barry Pepper, Seth Green, Dennis Hopper, John Malcovich and (Dare I say it) Vin Diesel. I usually don't find Vin Diesel all that good, but in this movie he did pretty good. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't "great", but "good." He just didn't try too hard to be cool or anything. He just suited his role. And that's coming from someone who 99% of the time dislikes him. For a low budget movie t had a great cast and put together a very good story. So this low budget movie did well. The only thing that really disappointed me was the action. What action lol? In my video shop it was in the action section and every website I go to says it's action. I've looked everywhere for reviews where maybe complained about it having no action. It didn't seem to worry anybody. It kind of worried me ab it, because it looked so good.There was one scene, however, when Vin Diesel bashes the guy n the pub. That Sen is action, but it's the only bit I know of. The pacing in this movie got slow at times, but apart from that, pretty good. if this movie had action like The Rock movies or anything like that it would have really been a terrific movie. Overall still good, but could've been better. 7/10
