Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Brainsbell The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

As they drive through a desolate shortcut on the way to the race, a man starts tracking, teasing and torturing them until the end of the road. Joy Ride 3: Road Kill is the same exact terrible sequel that the 2nd film was and way far from the first one as possible as it seems since it was quite the stupid that i shouldn't expect or should i? The acting, script, characters and pretty much everyone was just awful in this movie and especially the horror part was over the top. (0/10)
mattkratz This was perhaps my least favorite of the Joy Ride movies, as the psychotic truck driver Rusty Nail returns for his third go-round. This time, a bunch of car racers head down the "Bermuda Triangle" highway that Rusty Nail haunts, draw his ire, and he starts pursuing them. The "tricks" aren't as fresh as they were in the first movies, and a couple torture scenes and scenes with victims on top of the trucks were a bit unpleasant to watch. Rusty Nail is still a fun villain though. It was more fun when you just heard his voice. Just watch this if you're curious about the Joy Ride movies.** out of ****
Wuchak RELEASED TO VIDEO IN 2014 and directed by Declan O'Brien, "Joy Ride 3: Roadkill" depicts horrific events on the backroads of the American prairie when a youthful racing crew on their way to Road Rally 1000 mess with the wrong trucker, Rusty Nail.Rusty Nail obviously moved from his former location in the desert wilderness far outside Las Vegas, Nevada, to the lonesome prairies of Texas (note his license plate and the Kansas plates of the racers). The change in locale to the flatland prairie/forests (shot in the Winnipeg area) makes for a slightly different ambiance to "Joy Ride 2," but story-wise it's more-of-the-same, minus the obnoxious goth-punk.The first "Joy Ride" (2001) was akin to a modern-day "Duel" (1971), but with eye-rolling improbabilities, particularly in the last act. "Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead" took that template and added slasher & 'torture porn' elements, which is what you get with this one. But I like the protagonists better, led by Jesse Hutch, the race car driver. Kirsten Prout and Leela Savasta are effective in the feminine department with Kirsten being particularly adorable, but both need to gain at least 12-15 lbs. This is the first movie that reveals Rusty from the get-go (Ken Kirzinger), which is interesting, but they should've kept his identity a mystery IMHO, like in "Duel" and the first two movies, not that it matters much. At the end of the day this is a throwaway slasher thriller, but it works for what it is, an over-the-top slasher-horror on the American highways. Turn off your brain and enjoy the quick, implausibly horrific ride. If you can't do this, stay away. THE MOVIE RUNS 95 minutes and was shot in Winnipeg and Provincial Rd 305, Tourond, Manitoba, Canada. WRITER: Clay Tarver. ADDITIONAL CAST: Benjamin Hollingsworth, Gianpaolo Venuta and Jake Manley play the remaining race crew.GRADE: B-
Argemaluco I found the original Joy Ride mediocre, but it was successful enough in order to have a straight-to-DVD sequel (Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead), which abandoned the road movie/thriller premise in order to belong to the horror genre. And now, Joy Ride 3 attempts to resurrect the franchise putting the emphasis on the villain; the result is mediocre, but moderately entertaining. The characters are slightly more intelligent and less irritating than in other horror films, something which creates a reasonable level of suspense; but the screenplay lies too much on improbable coincidences and on the villain's almost supernatural capacity to always be one step ahead of the victims. For example, the victims have constant difficulties to communicate through their mobile phones and civil band radios. Meanwhile, the villain doesn't have any problem in keeping a wireless connection to the Internet while he drives his truck at 100 kilometres per hour over an abandoned highway through the desert. And in that way, jumping through logical holes and employing trite situations (including the obligatory personal conflicts and romantic tension), the film advances by fits and starts, even though that doesn't avoid the movie from being tolerable. So, even though I didn't find Joy Ride 3 a very good movie, I can give it a slight recommendation, and I would place it above the second film of the saga and at the same level of the first one. And to the fans of J.J. Abrams', don't waste the opportunity of seeing this famous director's name in the credits of a mediocre straight-to-DVD sequel (he was a co- screenwriter of the original Joy Ride, and he keeps receiving the "Inspired on characters created by" credit; I'm sure that his publicist must have nightmares in that regard).
