Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.

Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

skywalkeriit well i won't explain what it is in the movie but it is a must watch for any person who loves intense thriller story...i guarantee you will love it....patience is required in for 70% of movie which will not make much sense but after that when events unfold one by one its....breath taking....out of thousand turns that story can take it takes the one that you will least predict... . . i watched it in subs which are better than dubbed.. . . and also the music is amazing especially the song at end....fits the sad love this movie contains..... i enjoy Japanese anime movies a lot and this sure is in top in its own category. different league..... dialogs will not make sense most of the time until the true story is unfolded in front of you.... for a moment i was afraid that it will end up like one of those complicated movies which u better not try to understand until your head aches and u conclude that movie was nothing but a big pile of s***t but this movie has a rather simple story presented in its unique way... the message is so strong that if i would have been in the field of police and special unit and related bureaucracy...i would have hugely influenced... first five lines are my review its just that to post a review it should be at least 10 lines so i am just extending the stuff here...sorry...but anyway awesome movie for me that is why 9/10 ...one point less cause it was getting a bit slow in between...

salvamax133 Notable drama about our fears, doubts, actions for which we regret... The film mix a good script with a very elaborated story, Mamoru Oshii work about a man who see how a girl commits suicide, been able to shoot before this happened, but not do it, and casually, he meet the girl's sister, and he fall in love. Sometimes the film may seem a slow story, but it doesn't. It is an unknown little jewel of anime, sad and beautiful. I can highlight the beauty a delicate music of a very good composer, but not well known, Hajime Mizoguchi. I like very much the diverted history. It's very curious the idea of a Japan who lost the war, but not against EEUU, but against Germany. Highly recommended.

staticboy88 Set in a alternate version of history were Japan never fully recovers socially or economically from WWII, Jin-Ro focuses on the doomed relation ship between two individuals with conflicting backgrounds and loyalties. The film opens with a bang but never really gets its pacing on track afterwards. Other issues include the confusing twists and turns the plot takes (maybe I just watched it to late, but was lost 3/4 in.)and the red riding hood comparisons, while interesting in places, are overused and quickly become pretentious and rather preachy. Getting those complaints off my chest, Jin-ro is also very thought provoking, superbly animated,stylish and well crafted. Recommended.

GrassMasterdx Melodramatic is what this is. During the first three fourths of this I was bored to tears. It plays the same symbolisms and melancholy atmosphere over and over again with almost no plot development. Don't get me wrong, I don't prefer fast action over a good thought provoking plot, but I didn't feel anything while watching this. The protagonist is the same stereotypical silent melancholy hero that just mopes around accomplishing nothing. I was so bored the first time I watched this that after the first half I skipped through the rest only watching short 20-30 clips and was able to piece together a the story.To give some credit to the creators, the animation and sound quality were excellent. Only reason I was able to give this a 4.Some people may find something to like about this, but I found it extremely lacking and unthought provoking. I felt like a vegetable while watching this.
