Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Bea Swanson This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Harold Hardrade Well... the first signs of the film is encourage us to leave this, but the brave ones is surely watch it.Uwe Boll as director, OMG get away! - Jason Statham as protagonist, come on! That actor, who only played one character all of his films, even on his parodies and he just do one thing: Look intimidating, clearly it is good one a poster or a silly action movie... but not here. Not in any demanding movie.Let's see plot, which is clichéd, with the expectation of one cliché, the inn, we can see all, return to plot: Krugs attacked kingdom, sacking the entire village of Farmer (Jason Statham in movie) and kill his son, taken his wife away. Farmer Daimon (I not remembered this, so I seek to his name) and few of his friends go away to release Farmer's wife.LOGICAL FAILS: Krugs have an army, right? They surely had their own guardians, why would think, that a small group able to enter their territory. The magi (in modern clothes) sent the Krug against King Konreid. The daughter of this king in a weird lover of this magi, in a small sketch we can see their relationship, which ended in fault. The King's army attacked the Krug in a forest, aided by the nymphs and some assassin like warriors... (both?) I do not know, exactly. The King died later, naming his lost son (omg cliché) as his heir. Two magi clashes as a low-budget version of Gandalf vs Saruman, and the king's adviser magi fallen. Farmer enters the castle, deal with the evil magi with his followers. Here we knew, that his wife pregnant with his second child, an heir to Farmer.Total eye spit to the original Dungeon Siege 1 - I missed Lady Montbarron as central character - I missed the Utgards - I missed the plot of Legends of Aranna - Clearly they mentioned Ebh, but this Ehb is very cheap compared to the game's Ehb. - I missed the Empire of Stars, the Giants... etc. - Where is the Seck? - Where is undeads, goblins? Thanks for nothing, Uwe Boll.
brianjdavies I honestly cannot see why this movie merits a score of only 3.8. It seems to me that there must be a horde of Boll-trolls who delight in marking down this particular director. OK, Lord of the Rings it isn't, though it borrows heavily from that trilogy. It has a strong cast who make the best of a somewhat clunky script. The battle sequences are rather good, with a bit more in the way of tactical movement than a lot of similar movies. Jason Statham is, well, Jason Statham up to his usual action tricks. Claire Forlani is excellent and well supported by Ron Perlman. Matthew Lillard is gloriously over-the-top as the villainous nephew of the king. All in all I found it an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours, with my brain in neutral.
kristiscott111 I just lost 2 hours of my life watching this movie that I can never get back. I love medieval time movies. So we watched this one. About 10 minutes into it we were thinking uh oh, this is gonna suck. 30 minutes later we were contemplating fast forwarding through it to see if it ended up getting better. But were afraid we would miss some vital element in the movie and then it would be even worse than if we could just watch it straight through. It even had an all star cast! Actors that do very well & I enjoy watching. The dialog was painful to listen to as the actors did what that could with an awful script. The special effects were, well there really weren't any. Unless you consider the stuff on the original Star Trek special effects. Basically it was Robin Hood Men in Tights meets Lord of the Rings meets Braveheart...then take away money for scenery & costumes & add horrible dialogues and you've got it! This producer guy, Uwe Boll, was crazy enough to make a part 2 & a part 3 of this movie also but the 2nd & 3rd time around he try's to throw in some time travel!
clytnjnsn If you have the desire to watch your best friends suffer in a most horrific and distasteful manner, but have been searching for the proper way to carry out this punishment, your search has finally ended. In what I can only describe as your local meth head's Return of the King I present to you Uwe Boll's Magnum Opus. Where do I begin in describing the beauty, the brilliance, nay the piece de resistance that is Uwe Boll's In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. Featuring mostly wooden performances, laughable dialogue, and shoddy production values, In the Name of the King fulfills all expectations of a Uwe Boll film. You will not be disappointed as you live the adventure through the eyes of Farmer, a lowly… farmer who has the misfortune of living next door to Hellboy, I mean, Mugatu's fugly older brother…I mean Ron Perlman. Watch as Farmer (Jason Statham), attempts to avenge the murder of his child and try to save his beloved wife from the acting of Ray Liotta (I mean honestly, that is the real reason he is the villain in this movie). Experience the pain as Farmer must witness Uwe Boll blackmail Gimli and Burt Reynolds into being featured in this film (they really didn't want those nude pics leaked), much like Julie Andrews in The Princess Diaries 2. Prepare for a roller coaster of emotions as you try to contain disbelief from the get go, anger as you realize that you are still watching this film, and finally joy as you revel in the utter bliss signaling the credits. I give it two thumbs somewhere.
