Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good
Crwthod A lot more amusing than I thought it would be.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Noah Stobor I agree for the most of with most of the reviewers. I am very skeptical about low budget movies but I do appreciate small film makers trying to make something. Overall, I think this movie was a success for the resources it had available. For example, the script had a smart premise. I was actually wanting to find out more. And I think the actors did a good job for the project present. I was more intrigued with Sears's performance, but I did feel the characters themselves were poorly written and totally predictable which made them annoying. But the actors themselves did a good job but needed better direction. The music was great, even though it was too similar to Battlestar Galactica.Several problems that showed that this was a low budget film:The computer graphics looked low budget. The Aliens's costumes made me laugh There were way too many scenes of walking through the forest. If the editor took out 10 minutes of that footage, it would have been a much better film overall.I would be intrigued if this film was remade with a bigger budget and more less stereotypical characters.
allanesl I have no idea why it scored so low. At first the actors seemed thin. The doctor was less than convincing. But as the movie progressed it became more life-like. The idea of being brainwashed twice kept me, the audience, interested. This is a sci-fi that doesn't rely on special effects but rather an interesting story line and plot. Two problems though. I couldn't understand the Mendax's voice near the end of the movie. Sure, it sounds alien-ish, but it was really hard to understand its slurring. Second, it was a little corny that humans were the only race of beings the Mendax couldn't conquer entirely. That detail could use a rewrite. Aside from that, it was intriguing throughout and deserve a might higher rating.
Flor Rombain Lame movie, special effects that even can't be called effects, and when reading this comment you have to keep in mind that I like science fiction movies. The story of this movie seems pointless, it leads to nowhere. Certainly low budget. The acting ain't great, no action,... watching this movie is simply a waist of time !The story basically comes down to this: a couple of humans are sent to a planet to spread a virus that will kill their enemy, the mendax, once their spaceship has crashed on the planet, they try to make it to a village of the mendax, at a certain point they run into what they at first think is a mendax, but turn outs to be a human. So they start to doubt, going on, they find out that their minds have been implanted with memories by the mendax (they are clones, people who look the same, are the same, have been sent for the very same reason to the planet before). Later on they discover that they are actually sent to end humanity with the virus, but later on they discover that that ain't the case and that it's actually a virus to release the humans from mendax (created by a mendax)...This might sound like an interesting storyline, but I assure you, it ain't !
gerry137 Really, no action, no aliens that I could see, no nothing I felt that this was the worst movie ever, and believe me for me to post a comment on this site..well, just does not happen. If you really have problems getting to sleep at night, put the bible away and watch this, guaranteed to be asleep in seconds and no pills required. I must admit at first it looked promising, spaceship crash lands some survivors have to go into survival mode but thats it. The acting was predictable, special affects, well they sucked. All in all I did not have any patience for this movie. But at the end of the day its the viewer that decides what they like, for me it was a waste of time. You will get more enjoyment weeding your garden..
