Both of the female hikers are seeking love, though one of them is involved with their married guide and tries to push him into getting a divorce. Pluskylang Great Film overall
JinRoz For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
leplatypus This is a comedy but not the same humor than the french classic cited above. It's not vulgar or trashy but rather melancholic and dramatic. Here, it's about friends who intend to share a good moment trekking in the Corsica country. As they put their personal troubles in their luggage, the vacations turn into a nightmare. First, they must face with the problems of the trekking and in addition, they try to cope with their daily life. The big strength of this movie is the casting. It is very unusual to have 5 stars together. Moreover, they are very different from each other as well in their appearance than in their personality. My preferences go to Geraldine Pailhas, a very sweet, soft and gentle woman and Benoit Poelvoorde, who is my best funny actor since Louis De Funès. I like his Belgium accent and his eccentricity, proof of his big heart. It's like a zen meditation deep inside the splendid views of nature.Unfortunately, I heard that they have a sequel in saint Tropez and I have a big fear that they got "bronzes"!
Gilles Tran "Les randonneurs" is a comedy about a group of 5 thirtyish people (lovers or ex-lovers, as it is fashionable in the latest trend of French comedies) hiking their way in the (not so) wild Corsica to meet their own self. This is more "City slickers" than "Deliverance", though, so don't expect anything more dangerous than a hungry wild boar. It's typically the kind of movie which is held together by its actors, led by "Man bite dog"'s serial killer Benoit Poelvoorde, here the would-be charismatic leader of the group, actually a self-important, but pathetic, idiot, whose loves to explain others how to set one's left foot on the ground, and then the right one, well, how to walk. Also noticeable is Karin Viard, who is doing a great job as the temperamental whiner of the group. Of course, the movies' situations and characters are even more enjoyable if you've been on hiking trips yourself, because you're likely to recognize them.
