Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!
Bea Swanson This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
TataKaaye 1. you'll definitely cry 2. so-i is an outstanding child actress 3. superb chemistry between characters 4. a 3 year old girl living with immature brother in a cruel world 5. i hope Indian film industry learn few things from Korean industrymust watch 100% entertainmenti felt there was a scene where boy bought ice cream for her little sister and he ran all the way to home from school because of bus fare was taken from the Korean movie the way home 2002 with same child actor Seung-ho Yoo as a child actor where his granny walks to her home from some other town because of bus fare after buying snacks and batteries to him.emotional journey throughout the movie, first when the sister was unhappy because of melted ice then the way she put makeup on her dog, she waits for her brother at bus stop, she wets her bed and blames the dog, her drawing which was showed at the end, the way girl spends her time with dog when her brother is in school, when she cries for her mother and he shouts at her, the comedy scene of hair wash and chilly powder scene, i cant watch the scene where she dies. then in comes second part of story, dog follows master, the train scene where he begs for money is outstanding then movie becomes much more emotional. i cant forget that last scene, so wonderfully written, acted and captured on screen. at the end i was hoping either the boy dies or his sister is alive somehow,. but ending was just awesome. this movie will be in my top 10 list along with grave of fireflies, miracle in cell no. 7, barefoot gen and other with similar emotional movies.
Suman Shakya "Hearty Paws" feels like a sweet, heart touching tale of a bond between a brother, sister and their pet dog. At certain level, the film succeeds in bringing its emotions. But at the same time, there is much of unpleasantness and meanness in the story which doesn't make it a favorable watch. Only in few reels the film sticks to its main theme of portraying the bond between the dog and boy and entertains through the activities of the dog. Rest of the film meanders into the unpleasantness sequences of gangsters, cruelty involving animals and orphans which highly declines the movie into an average, forgettable film.Rating: 1 star out of 4
Bharath Ponnusamy This is the first Korean movie I have seen. And, this made me a lover of Korean movies. The way the bond between the Dog and the Boy is shown is fantastic right from the scene where the Boy gifts the puppy to his Sister. The Director scores in every scene particularly in the scene where the Boy finds the drawing book of his Sister's. The emotional fight and the reunion between the Boy and Dog pulls up your feelings.I really cried when they united as if the Boy was me and it's my own Dog.It makes me cry when the Boy cries holding his Dog in the final scene. Although, the movie finishes up with a light mood giving you a good feeling behind those tears. If you're gonna watch one movie of the kind 'Love between Men and Animals', then this be it.A must watch for all those who feels for an another life.
dreambigg11 i am new to korean movies but it is an awesome movie i think it is underrated it should be given at least 9/10. if you are in a mood to shed some tears then must must watch. From a technical point of view, there is little to none to criticize. Sometimes the movie may seem somewhat manipulative in its approach to move the viewer, but it also proves to be surprisingly captivating and emotionally engaging. Friends of tearjerker- dramas shouldn't miss this one!First, you might feel led to believe that "Heart is..." is in fact a family movie. There is a cute puppy, that makes its first lumbering footsteps into this new world, and there is the girl Soi who is also cute as a button. What's following in the first half hour is an introduction into an everything but intact, yet happy family life. This joyfulness is naturally emanating from Maeumi, who proves to be a great and lovable playfellow. But there is a reason why this movie is titled a drama. After this nice heart-warming introduction the catastrophe that comes hits us especially hard. What happens in detail is nothing to be written about here - to avoid any spoilering, of course - but when you think about it again, it's also pretty obvious. Still, when we have to watch one of the protagonists meeting his fate, then this scene is nonetheless quite shocking and emotionally involving. Additionally, from this moment on, everything goes down to hell. The feeling of being choked by all the sadness won't leave you until the very end, since director Oh Dal-gyoon lets Chan suffer a true ordeal of a drama
