Titreenp SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
MamaGravity good back-story, and good acting
MusicChat It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
lisa-schaffer I remember watching this movie every time I could when it was on TV back in the 1980's. It was very easy to connect with the characters, they were 'real people', ordinary, not overdone or overly complicated. I could imagine these characters in the real world. I have been looking for a copy of this movie, and I wish they would release it on DVD. While my fondness for Headin' For Broadway might be related to my youth, the real feel of the characters and the plot lines are definitely worth a viewing. What an amazing movie, down-to-earth, nothing real flashy from what I remember, but I loved some of the songs, and I would LOVE to see this again!
godspellgroupie This film is a less pretense than chorus line, but not as entertaining as Fame. It sets up and unfolds in sort of a predictable fashion as it presents a story of four wannabees trying out for Broadway-A country girl who is always the star of the local plays,a Los Angeles hot shot, a brooklyn street dancer and a poor girl from harlem. One makes it,one takes a secondary role, one doesn't make it but has something to fall back on,and one dosen't make it and loses something else in the process. This film has its moments but never really reaches a climax. Still with so many people addicted to American Idol and Dancin with the stars, this film deserves at least another look
Magman1 Singers and dancers from various parts of the country and with various backgrounds head to Broadway to audition for a spot in a show. Focusing on four dancers ranging from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, the film takes them through the whole process of trying out. While the acting isn't all that great, the dancing and music is top notch. Only one actor is recognizable; Lonnie Price,(Niel Kellerman from "Dirty Dancing") plays the role of an NYU student. "Headin For Broadway" also fairly illustrates the audition process, perhaps better than "A Chorus Line". While it is very rare film to find, out of print on VHS and not available on DVD, it is an enjoyable and entertaining movie. If you like good musicals and dance numbers, this is for you.
jdevlaminck Help. I've been trying to find this movie since the early 80's. I saw it on HBO and really liked it. Didn't own a VCR at the time and never taped it. Now I've been on this search forever. I actually look through the entire TV guide every sunday morning. I haven't found it on any video sites, this is the only place I've ever found mention of it. Where are people seeing it?
