Details

When Leela is insulted by a group of space-rednecks (like regular rednecks, but in space) she enters the Planet Express ship in a demolition derby. She emerges victorious, but when she brings the damaged ship home and the Professor sees the fuel gauge, he's enraged by the hit he's going to take at the Dark Matter pump. Now the crew have to find a way to break Mom's stranglehold on starship fuel, even if they have to wade through a Lord of the Rings-inspired fantasy-land to do it!

Reviews

WasAnnon Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Bea Swanson This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Aiden Melton The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
sam-rieck Argh, this movie is so frustratingly bad! There are a number of flaws which will be detailed below. Basically, the Planet Express crew get sucked into some alternate reality after storming Mom's lair to save Nibbler and a bunch of other Nibblonians...but it takes ages to get to the alternate reality, by the time they do, the movie is halfway over. And then, the "plot" is mostly a whole bunch of pop culture references crammed down the viewer's throat! Enough already, you're referencing popular stuff, we get it, don't overdo it! And the characterization really suffers in this movie too. They take one aspect of a character's personality, and multiply it by ten, and suddenly, you've got a Leela who want's to kill everything and an Amy who wants to sleep with everyone, even the hideous monsters. Jeez, Leela hits people a lot in the show, but nowhere near as much as she does here, and Amy was never so...loose as she is here, she makes out with an Orc, a Mork (don't ask) and even Leela! That last one came right out of left field and was so ridiculously pointless, it didn't even make sense! So yeah, don't watch this movie, you'll be losing more than half of your brain cells, go watch the first two movies or the show instead, but not this or the next movie, which is almost as bad.
Enchorde Recap: Fuel prices keep going up, and it's an outrage! Of course it's a scheme by Mom and her evil corporation, and as always, Farnsworth has both the history to tell and a key to solve it. He is the one who made dark matter to the potent fuel it is, and he has also the key, a crystal, to undo it. If he only remembered where he put it. At the same time Cubert and his friends are playing Dungeons and Dragons. And Bender suffers enormously from the fact that he lacks imagination. He tries so hard that he goes insane, and together with the die they use playing holds magnificent power.Comments: If you are a fan of the series I think you, like me, will love it. Bender's Game is full of inside jokes, the typical humor of the series and actually a little development of some of the episodes in the series. If you, like me, seen (and own) every released episode, you don't want to miss this. But, I actually suspect that if you're not a true believer (yet – you'll soon be converted) you might like it too. Without the inside jokes, and without knowing of the previous episodes, it is still a really funny movie. It is really good parody of its own, full of references too both sci-fi and fantasy movies (and others as well) and, of course, the game Dungeons and Dragons. Combined with the humor of Groening and his marvelous team it is a really funny movie. However, to experience it like the gem it is, I think you need to be a fan. And even if it is really good then, it isn't the masterpiece I know that Groening and friends are capable of. But sit back and enjoy, it is a great ride.8/10
freakfire-1 None of the Futurama movies are perfect, although they are marking a steady increase of quality. And with this installment, Futurama fans are seeing the series they fell in love with. Or maybe the just liked making fun of Zoidberg. I don't care, as long as they give it a chance.Fuel prices 3008 are skyrocketing and thus need new sources of dark matter. But the secrets about dark matter become more complicated, especially when they go to the crazy fantasy land in the middle of the film. Ah, if only I were Bender and destroyed his game.At any rate, Professor Farnsworth, Fry, Leela, and the whole crew go through this mysterious "Dungeons and Dragons" game it gets a little crazy. It is hard to describe, but any Futurama fan should enjoy it.Overall, very good. Can't wait for the 4th one. "A"
RainDogJr When I was younger I watched almost every night the show that was and still is my favourite TV show of all time, yes I'm talking about The Simpsons, well the old Simpsons from Season1 to like Season 12. I remember that on National TV two episodes aired pee night and once after The Simpsons Futurama was shown, it was the very first time I watched a complete Futurama episode and I clearly remember that was the episode in which Bender is a were- car, now checking I know is the episode "The Honking". I remember that I was kind of exciting for thinking I was going to watch regularly Futurama but the next day it was showed another thing, no more Futurama! Certainly was strange but some years later when cable TV was contracted in my house I watched more of this show and actually since like 3 years ago I own a couple of DVD sets, the first two and that are the only Seasons that I have seen complete. I love Futurama, I think it is a truly awesome show and is a real shame it never gained a place in the programming of National TV of Mexico. For all is very strange to see that Futurama has a IMDb user rating of 9.3/10 with 19, 509 votes as for today and The Simpsons has a IMDb user rating of 9.2/10 with only 392 votes! The weird fact is the votes that The Simpsons has since for example South Park has a rating of 9.3/10 with 29, 285 votes and even Bender's Game has 2, 432 votes. Anyway, certainly I had interest in watching the new stuff of Futurama and I have been seeing the DVDs at my local store but until a couple of days ago I finally decided to get one of the three available, I got Bender's Game that is the third one just because it was the cheapest of the three but and since I really liked Bender's Game I will be getting the other Futurama straight to DVD movies. Just like with The Simpsons I prefer to watch Futurama in Spanish, the original dubbing in Spanish is really great and for me is by far more enjoyable than the original voices but unfortunately here there's a new cast and frankly I missed the old one so I decided to watch this in English. Anyway, the animation here is fantastic and here we have a longer opening with a very cool Yellow Submarine-like scene that ends in a very funny way with the crazy character Nibbler to let begin this 87 minutes movie. Basically there's not a single long period of time without a good laugh and basically we have two plots during the first part, one is about Bender and Dungeons & Dragons, now Bender is Titanius Anglesmith Fancy Man of Cornwood but not only while playing Dungeons & Dragons so he will quickly end in the robot insane asylum. The other plot is about dark matter, less dark matter and the price of the fuel is higher so certainly Mom is the person behind all of this and her three sons are on fire, they will be owl exterminators ("thanks for the crystal"- hilarious) and the funnier son Igner will know the secret of who is his father. Leela's "adventure" with the anger stuff made me remember the South Park movie since Leela will be suffering sort of like Cartman suffered. Then when the two plots comes together we are in a new world, actually in Cornwood ad we have more Dungeons & Dragons, Lord of the Rings stuff and Star Wars stuff, is a very funny final part of the movie (check the hilarious stuff with Fry -do- as Gollum!). This was a very sad movie for the Nibblonians! Then I really liked Bender's Game, it is good Futurama stuff, a lot of fun!
