Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
altamashdhopawkar Dabanggggggg 2 is a nice movie the story was not good as compare to dabangg 1 but the action was very nice and its full entertainment movie. Salman khan acting is awesome, other supporting actors are good. Overall the Dabangg 2 is full masala entertainment plus comedy and action.
AAG --- Salman Khan dons his role as the ruthless, lovely yet destructive cop Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg 2. His sheer attitude, daring and star power is the biggest crowd puller. No wonder he is Salman Khan, the biggest mass entertainer in the history of Bollywood. His mere screen presence is enough to make the audience go gaga over him. Understanding this fact very well, his brother and debut director, Arbaaz Khan makes a movie where Salman gets the maximum presence overshadowing all other protagonists. The story takes place in Kanpur where Chulbul Pandey joins as new police inspector. The city is plagued by kidnappings, murder and rape by various goons. Acting as a savior of the city, he beats up the bad guys, gaining the love of the media and city. Meanwhile, he also plays the role of a loving husband, an obedient son to his father. Things turn ugly turn when he kills the younger brother of Baccha Bhaiya, the main antagonist of the movie. This incident invites the wrath of Baccha Bhaiya and he swears to end Chulbul and his family. But he is yet to see the anger of Chulbul Pandey, which he has unleashed in Lalganj in Dabangg. Can Chulbul pull it off for the second time in a bigger city? You have got to see it for yourselfThe only glue which holds the story is Salman Khan. With this cracking one liners, daring action and superb romance, he shines like a star in an otherwise dull and similar plot. Arbaaz does not even try to make any changes in the script. Every scene is like the first film. Same opening fight scene followed by comic dialogs and songs. Even the numbers of songs are same in the movie. But, this a Salman's show all the way. He does the action, romance, and small talk with Baccha Bhaiya and more. All other actors are fitted around his role. Even when he is absent for five minutes, the story seems dull. But nevertheless, all actors have performed as per the movie. Rajjo (Sonakshi Singha) his wife and his father Vinod Khanna have performed well. Arbaaz who happens to be his brother in the movie acts more like a dimwitted person. The songs are melodious. "Fevicol Se" may be little demeaning of women but it should be taken lightly, as entertainment only. All songs are choreographed nicely and are bound to make audience get into their feet. The cinematography has nothing new but good nevertheless. In my opinion, script is the only negative point as there is not any scope of a good story telling. Arbaaz Khan has given all the importance to Salman Khan, from his cool dialogs to his crazy shirt ripping in the last scene. But it would have been better to develop a good story which would have taken this franchise to a new level. Arbaaz debut job as director is commendable but I feel the direction of first movie by Anurag Khashyap is better. Still this movie is a full mass entertainer, which has the potential to break all records in Bollywood and leaving you wanting more of Salman.
akashimdb Dabangg 2 enjoyed a hyped which was envied by every actor, producer and director. But, the higher you climb, the more fatal is the fall. Dabangg 2 is just like Dabangg - all Salman Khan. Question is who made Salman in Dabanng? The answer - Abhinav Singh Kashyap. That is what director Arbaaz Khan knew and what he ignored. I cannot write anything about the story as there is none. But I can tell you how they made Dabangg 2. First they made parallel songs to Dabangg. Dabanng Reloaded, Dagabaaz Re, Pandeyji Seeti, Saanson Ne, Fevicol are all exactly analogous to Hud Hud Dabanng, Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Humka Peeni Hai, Mora Jiya and Munni Badnaam respectively. Then they filled in the gaps with Salman's antics. The screenplay is mediocre but neither good nor lame. There are comic moments but there could be many more. Dabangg 2 uses Dabangg in a lot of scenes.Arbaaz Khan fails. This man had everything in the world to make a sequel - an all time hit prequel, the biggest star at that time, all the money to make it lavish and most importantly he had all the time in the world to make it because we didn't see him work anywhere else. But so strong is his brother Salman's mass following that Arbaaz succeeds just on paper. Arbaaz is the sole reason why Dabangg 2 is very far from Dabangg. Abhinav had made each joke laughable. Arbaaz does that in just a few. The rest fall flat despite Salman's attempts to help them. Ironically Arbaaz's work is just his character Makkhi in the film - lazy, doing things just for the sake of doing them and counting the chickens before they hatch.Salman gives a splendid performance. But he was much better in Dabanng. Since Arbaaz is the director the characteristics mentioned above reflect in Salman. The cinematography and music were again better in the prequel. The song Fevicol Se is the only exception which is awesome. Kareena is scintillating.Overall Dabanng 2 fails miserably because of two aspects - Dabanng worked fabulously and Arbazz fails horribly in Dabanng 2!
bobbysing Salman Khan returning in the year's last festive season with his sequel of the blockbuster DABANGG was exciting news for many including myself. So, spiritedly as I glanced through the newspaper's entertainment section today, it was full of lists of theaters and uncountable shows of DABANGG 2 running all over the city like a carnival. Hence the very doubt of whether the film will work or not was completely out of question as there was no way it is going to flop with such a wide and mega release irrespective of its content. In fact that is the latest success formula of Bollywood in which you can make anything with the Stars and still churn out money, following this perfect business strategy without fail. Hence instead of thinking about the film's box office performance I was just interested in enjoying a good time in the theater with Salman and his hugely likable mannerisms and that's it.The film began with exactly a similar action sequence as seen in its part one and within few minutes it clearly revealed that there's only going to be a new city with some fresh villains in the storyline and nothing beyond that. Therefore in the entire first half we only have a smoothly progressing film with few occasional light moments and many songs but nothing great. However since its neither anything bad or intolerable so one doesn't mind watching it calmly till an impressive scene comes right before the interval providing you the much needed energy to stay in.Post intermission as one is willing to see many (predictable) fiery confrontation sequences with some never before kind of action performed by Salman Khan, it all suddenly happens pretty fast and ends on a very uninteresting note without making any kind of solid impact on the viewer. In other words, the second half doesn't have anything grand or significant happening on the screen in terms of clashes, dialogues or action which was a lot less than what was being expected from a DABANGG Part 2. Yet on the positive side, its clean entertainment all the way (except the avoidable FEVICOL song) lacking any novelty, reminding you of all those revenge based movies featuring Dharmendra in the 80s with titles such as PAAP KO JALAA KAR RAAKH KAR DOONGA. So all together we have a new age macho man here in the form of Salman Khan (who has a friendly image off and on screen), punching the villains in another new film of his based on a routine script and that's all.As a director Arbaaz Khan just calls the shots and rest is done by Salman Khan himself who visibly keeps improvising on the spot in most of his scenes. To be honest the Superstar seems to be enjoying every frame of his stardom in the film without any fear or doubt. And therefore we don't have Chulbul Pandey on the screen in reality but always Salman Khan playing the character given to him at his own pace or ease till the end. He entertains you with his dialogues, excels in his action and even makes you laugh through his awkward dance moments which in turn don't let you write off the film completely even if you wish to. Therefore as one walks out, he is neither willing to say that it is great nor able to rate it bad in actual terms which should be a good news for all the fans out there.Being a Salman Khan film, the entire supporting cast remains there to support only and never rises above that level as expected. Sonakshi plays it routine, Arbaaz is just okay, Vinod Khanna is fine but both Mahie Gill and Deepak Dobriyal remain wasted. Further it was really sad to see Prakash Raj once again being used as the same old villain waiting to be beaten by the hero in the end without any newly added gimmicks or flavor. To speak the truth here is an actor who is being used in great variety in South but always given the same repeated roles in each new big film without any vision here in Bollywood.Musically, it has a good soundtrack no doubt but still a little weak if compared to its part one. Though few of the tracks have already become chartbusters due to the star value associated with them, yet they are way behind DABANGG as far as the melody is concerned. Plus I have my own objections to the songs like 'Fevicol' which I have discussed in another write-up for all friends here in the link below.Summing up, DABANGG 2 doesn't really fulfill the responsibility of giving something different or new in the sequel after the big success of its original. Its just the same biryani with some newly added colours served to you in a fresh plate. But since the taste is not bad at all, therefore you may not mind having it once again just to satisfy your timely hunger.
