Reviews

StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
plutus1947 James Cameron has done it yet again. This mesmerising show was full of entertainment from start to finish. This is a 'Circus' like no other I have ever seen.To enjoy it to its fullest you should try to watch it in 3D because the results are spectacular.SPOILER BEGINS It begins with Mia (Erica Linz) going into the Big Top to watch the Aerialist (Igor Zaripov) perform but whilst he is performing he falls and is sucked through the circus ring sand into the dreamlike tent world of the Cirque du Soleil.Mia runs into the ring to try to save the aerialist but is also sucked in to this dreamlike world. She visits each tent in turn searching for the Aerialist and encounters a myriad acrobats performing in different ways along with other performers, dancers etc.SPOILER ENDS I have not seen a circus in decades, ever since I was a child but when I decided to see what this production was like I found myself totally mesmerised from start to finish. The 3D effects were impeccable and the whole production was a joy to watch.I have no hesitation in recommending 'Cirque du Soleil - Worlds Away' to anyone and everyone.James Cameron's Midas touch continues to astonish me.
Reno Rangan Really a spectacular movie, enjoyed every bit of it. After seeing action, crime, comedy, thriller, science fiction... movies this movie gave the new perspective of entertainment. It was a kinda fusion of all the world's best circus stunts, dance, light luminous with story in layers to cinematic extravaganza. This movie had no borders for the human imaginations, for every 10 minutes something new-new remarkable visuals and breathtaking performance by the artists makes us the unforgettable moment of our life. An awesome artwork of the different category stunts teams of the movie. Totally a treat for the audience. Another highlight of the movie was the songs and background musics. It was like a lullaby, so melodious, worth to buy its OST.This movie will take you far from our world to the dreamland while you are awake. A refreshing movie, you will miss something if you miss this movie especially as you are a movie fanatic you must not miss it. This movie was crafted by the notable New Zealand filmmaker for his work 'Shrek' and 'Narnia' series. Recommended.
Tejas Nair I was intrigued by the title. But, now I know why I shouldn't be watching movies simply based on the title & trailer. No dialogs, no plot, no screenplay - just plain circus show with crescendos here & there. The cast is directly brought out of some professional circus band. The lead characters seem to be happy the makers cast them in a specious flick. Their expressions evince that, throughout. The music is the only thing worth listening to. And since the dialogs are absent, it will save you, should you take a chance to watch this horrendous torture. In general sense, I like watching circus shows. But, this is monotonous, illogical & increasingly circuitous. A cruel 0.8/10 for this blunder. Instead, go watch a native show. That'll be entertaining & economic.BOTTOM LINE: Not at all recommended because there IS nothing to recommend. Could be the lowest rated movie in my list. Stay away & let the glamor not fool you!Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YESProfanity/Vulgarity: No | Sex/Foreplay: No | Nudity: Mediocre | Violence: Mild | Gore: No | Smoking/Alcohol: No
Visqueraient Being a Cirque movie, I kinda knew what to expect (loose plot, allegorical imagery, etc.) but the visuals were really breathtaking. Seeing the acts up close, with vivid costumes and colours, it would look great even if it wasn't in 3D! It would have been great if they could put La Nouba in, and some of the touring shows, but time and logistics constraints didn't permit. So it is a sort of promotional film for Cirque's Las Vegas productions.Generally speaking, the music composed specially for the movie was only mildly memorable. I had fun, though, identifying the existing themes and tunes from the different shows (there was even a bit of Simcha in the old-school circus at the beginning ;)However, the one thing that bugged me after seeing the whole film was that there was too much Beatles! Although Zumanity didn't appear much (for the sake of family-friendliness perhaps), and as a whole the acts selected were awesome, it seemed to be one Beatles song after another. Cirque has always emphasised the use of Cirquish (an invented language) for lyrics, which does not distract us from the act. And to add insult to injury, Mystere only made a single appearance in the film (a cube act, I believe). How can the longest-running Cirque show in Vegas only merit a passing mention? Thank goodness Viva Elvis only made a single appearance (a trampoline act). Nevertheless, the saving grace of the movie was the inclusion of much material from O and Ka. Ka really brought home the point that it was possible to do dramatic fight scenes live on stage, and 'O' showed us what was possible with water.I'd still recommend Worlds Away to my friends, as a gateway into what Cirque du Soleil is about.
