Nolan Mack, a soft-spoken bank employee, undoubtedly loves his wife Joy, though their cavernous empty house only underscores how disconnected they’ve always been from each other. Nolan finds himself drifting from his familiar present-day life in pursuit of lost time after meeting a troubled young man named Leo on his drive home. What begins as an aimless drive down an unfamiliar street turns into a life-altering series of events.

Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
ThiefHott Too much of everything
Greenes Please don't spend money on this.
Mehdi Hoffman There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
Prismark10 Boulevard features Robin Williams in his last main role. He plays Nolan, a closeted homosexual man in a marriage of convenience who works in a bank. He visits his ill father in hospital, he hates his job and he is 60 years old and feels his life has been unfulfilled. One night he nearly runs over a young gay hustler Leo. Nolan pays him money to spend time with him and soon becomes infatuated with him. Leo has money problems, drug problems and has a violent pimp. Nolan thinks he can straighten his life out maybe get him a job and does not realise he is being used. Leo after all is a male prostitute. He needs to do tricks to get money, he needs money for drugs. Both lives are on the verge of heading out of control.Kathy Baker plays Nolan's wife. They sleep in separate beds almost live separate lives but does not want to be without him. Bob Odenkirk plays his friend who is worried about what is happening to Nolan.Boulevard is a not a very good film, it is a very generic drama, too foreseeable for my liking. Twenty five years ago (see The Lost Language of the Cranes with Brian Cox) it would had been risky, daring and cutting edge but not anymore.Williams gives a very restraint performance but it is predictable. You know he has bitten off more than he can chew with Leo, he will fall in love with him, try to make him change, improve his life but Leo will just go on to hustle. For Nolan the even are cathartic, on the verge of promotion he realises he needs to change his life even at this late stage.
SnoopyStyle Nolan Mack (Robin Williams) is a stiff banker married to Joy (Kathy Baker). They seem devoted but he's been a closeted homosexual for all of his adult life. His father is in a nursing home. His best friend Winston (Bob Odenkirk) has a young girlfriend. He is being primed to be the manager of a new bank branch. One night, he cruises a boulevard and runs over male-prostitute Leo. He tries to take care of Leo who is under the thumb of his pimp Eddie.Robin Williams does a good job. There is a neediness in Nolan that is both off-putting and compelling. The story is almost quaint by today's standard. The problem is that he could come out to everybody and there wouldn't be any damage. Times have basically passed by this movie. Ten years ago, this would be edgy. Today, his homosexuality could actually help in his banking job. It would probably be a relief to Joy to let the secret out into the open and Winston would throw him a party.
ario-626-154846 Author: Studiobena from Israel in this "Reviews & Ratings for Boulevard says" that"It's a kind of sad this is the last movie from Williams, I sure hope I'll erase it from my memory quick because I don't want to remember him like this.".Me not good in English, I can only say the very same, but I'm unfortunate as a Williams' big fan in Japan.I still wonder if his role Nolan is whether his true character/nature or just his great talent /performance.
Michael O'Keefe Dito Montiel directs the first of the last four movies Robin Williams made before his untimely death. Nolan Mack(Williams)became too comfortable with his mundane, sexless life. Surely his wife Joy(Kathy Baker)must have had a clue he may be gay; they slept in separate rooms. Not that he loved money, Nolan worked at the same bank branch for over two decades. He seemed tight with his money until one night driving aimlessly on the boulevard he meets up with a troubled young male prostitute named Leo(Roberto Aguire). He keeps wanting to see the young man and will pay him for his time, without sex being involved. Mr. Mack's life will become altered with a chain of life changing events taking place. Depressing and yet, heartfelt.Williams is excellent. Also in the cast: Bob Odenkirk, Curtis Gordon, Elenore Hendricks and Gary Gardner.
