This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

"Black Beauty," a film centering on a 15 year-old girl who volunteers at a city pound, and convinces her Grandfather in the country to adopt a horse that was rescued from an abusive owner. They spend the summer rehabilitating "Black Beauty." Well i didn't expect this film to have great reviews but my god it's nowhere near as bad as a 3.6/10 it's still a sweet film with a really nice message and i'm sure it will eventually find it's right audience and i honestly think that the girl Audry (Jennifer Mckenzie) and Bruce Davison as Grandpa did a pretty good job as for the rest of the cast Luke Perry was decent but it does have issues mostly with the script where they try to throw in a love story and a rivalry between this girl and some big shot rich chick who by the way was awful both as a character and as an actress but overall i did found myself enjoying this movie it had 2 great performances, a sweet story and i knew what i was getting into and if you give it a chance you might enjoy it (7.7/10)

Well, I really don't know where to start. Borrowing the title of a classic horse story to make a film that would make Twilight look subtle is basically what happened here. You've got the 'Different', 'Outcast' girl as the main character, even though she looks about thirty and would be one of the most attractive girls in any school around the world. You've got the overprotective dad, the attractive, mysterious boy, the one-dimensional spiteful and snooty villain.Topped off with all the generic pop romance music and this hits all the marks needed to create the ultimate middle-class pre-teen girls' film. The only reason I kept watching was to see just how bad it could get and in the end it was definitely one of the worst I've seen, but just wasn't self aware or ridiculous enough to be so bad that it's good. It's just the sheer definition of mediocrity really and a bit of a laborious experience with a few unintended laughs here and there.I would say that the end was OK because I was genuinely expecting the typical 'good guys win yay!' ending, but it just felt really anticlimactic; it had so much build up and ended in about ten seconds. So that gained no positives. All in all, it's complete garbage, not memorable, but not forgettable. Just a nothing film.

The romantic male lead looked like a girl, and acted like one, too. The acting was lousy on everyone's part except for the girl and the grandfather. The script was seemingly written by a ten year old. So why am I rating it so highly? It is honestly the funniest thing to make fun of. It was so terrible, it was hilarious. I mean, the further into the film I got, the more I wondered "how in the world did this ever make it this far?", and the more I laughed! Honestly, it's so terrible, you will enjoy it. Be in the right mindset, though. You can't just have had the worst day of your life before watching it or you'll probably throw a cat out the window. But if you're feeling goofy and giddy, turn this sucker on and laugh at how low the film industry has sunk.

The main actress appeared very motivated in helping the horse. I would give her that 100%. Her expressions are very beautiful and sincere, so I can see why she was chosen to have that role. Grandpa did a good job as well. He appeared very generous and close to his granddaughter. The other characters were a bit off, but they were pretty irrelevant to the movie theme. I think folks may be a bit disappointed cause they're used to the Disney formats. But I think the movie did a good job portraying the struggles of a teenager fitting in, and how she's able to put the energy into something she enjoys, the country, the horse, and life simplicity.
