InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
jackalmouse I have...very mixed feelings about this movie. It tried to be too many things, so it just felt confused. It did however have some really good moments, that were well shot and very pretty creepy, and one very hilarious moment as well that had great pacing as well, and some nice emotional value. If you need meat on the bones (no pun intended) then you should give it a pass. If you can turn off your critical sense and just want an entertaining movie that passes time, it's OK. Overall decent, some major flaws, some pretty great moments as well. They should have dissected it a bit more (teehee), and made a series with more focus, then it might've been really cool.I can't hate or dislike the movie really, it just left me feeling wanting, it had a lot of potential, but if it followed up on all of it and developed it more, it'd be way too long for a single film, and that's a darned shame.
Miss_Xray As seen from a point of view that this should be a horror thriller i must say .. 1 star? If you watch it for what it is .. " a bad horror film that is so bad its funny" then it might have its moments. I have to agree a lot with the review that thomyorkeradio wrote. Emily calls the cops. One shows up with no weapon drawn.. totally believes the psycho doctor even though the hospital have been closed for years.. wtf =S. Emily doesn't try to run even though the psycho doesn't even have a gun or anything to threaten her with. Then if so .. why even run in the first place? Stupid police thinks " yes lets go check out dead bodies on my own without back up". Emily chops nurses arm off .. meat and bone. We all know how easy it is to chop off a bone. Yes.. riiiight. Not like you need a saw or any. Emilys boyfriend think something is wrong but he are not quite sure what. Made me actually laugh. Emily managed to get up , stand up straight and have the strength to bash someones head in after getting her head drilled. Managed to run around perfectly fine. When Emily and her drugged up male friend finds female friend with just a half of her scull left and practically dead.... Instead of "shit we are next lets run and hide and be quiet" they covers her with a sheet (??) Not suspicious at all right? Tries then to run and be quiet? No.. Slams doors and doesn't even try to be remotely quiet. This is illogical on so many levels i wonder if its suppose to be funny. The only smart thing I noticed was when Emily put the phone on the floor for the guy to find when it was ringing but then of course doesn't look where she is going... Oh yes and a hospital with no people? Seems odd? nooooo of course not ... I don't think any hospital in the world is that empty. But for these people they don't suspect a thing? This film is NOT trying to be a realistic horror, but just a gory one with lots of stupid things
fedor8 American film-makers should stick to proper horror films, and leave the senseless sadistic butchery to the French. There is nothing easier than writing endless torture into a script, using it as a cover-up for a thin plot; the trick is to write a real story with unpredictable twists and original turns, because anyone can think of a million ways in which to harm and destroy the human body. Any moron could have written this.Even a shoddy mediocrity such as this needs to make up its mind whether it wants to be a supernatural horror or not. These in-between horror flicks, that are neither supernatural nor reality-based, want to have their cake and eat it too, and because that isn't possible they always turn out to be stupid. There are only four humans running the entire hospital (which is dumb enough in itself), and yet some of them behave like zombies or vampires, being immune to all sorts of assaults, possessing superhuman strength; the usual wishy-washy gobbledygook one has come to expect from the torture-horror crap sub-genre.Plenty of other nonsense here - not to mention every horror cliché in the book: 1) the sudden "help me!" cry from a person leaning on the window of a locked cell/room, 2) "the phone doesn't work, there is no signal here" shtick, a plague in modern horror films, 3) the daft cop who comes to investigate and very predictably gets killed, 4) the bad guys that appear out of nowhere (as if possessing both telepathy and clairvoyance), 5) the almost cartoon-like cat-and-mouse game, she's captured – she's free – she's captured – she's free again – she's re-captured – she frees herself yet again, and many other examples of blatant unoriginality.I don't see how anyone could have failed to foresee from the very start of the movie (without needing the power of clairvoyance) that the (very attractive) brunette was going to be the only survivor of the bloody piffle that is about to transpire. I wish that some of these lame-ass horror writers would for once break out of the generic-formulaic box in which they reside and actually give us unpredictable characters and events. By that I mean moments such as the utterly stereotypical final scene in which Doctor Frankenstein once again resurrects from the dead – without being either a zombie or a vampire. Moronic B-movie fluff. On the positive side, the classic abandoned hospital may be yet another cliché but it's the right setting for a horror film, and both of the movie's young women are good-looking (which I don't take for granted these days).
petit76 I just do not understand how on earth these people are given the budget to pull of these sort of movies with no backbone at all. I really thought it would be a good 1.5 hour of leisure on a scary movie but I was totally disappointed from the start to the end. Bunch of party animals have a crash in the middle of nowhere and they discover they actually have run over a man who sneaked out underneath the vehicle to grab one of the victims then everything picks up from that moment on. The ambulance arrives with two weird looking dudes taking the wounded person on the stretcher to embark him in the ambulance and thought nothing happened to the other people who actually ran over the guy are asked to get in the ambulance to have themselves checked at the hospital. The first thing I realized the ambulance was looking like one with the lights and stripes outside but when the door was opened it was nothing but the track to lay the gurney on. first off It is very unlikely for people to get in an ambulance with another patient who is in a critically bad condition second they would wait for cops to come and talk to them no matter what they are asked to do. When they are brought to the hospital they are welcomed by an odd nurse who is asking them to ''thoroughly fill out the forms'' which is nothing to do with the hospital's real concept second it was not done not to make the victims suspect of the hospital. It was just done to string the audience along with the movie. I was really trying to understand why the nurse was so high-strung all the time people were trying to speak with her and more oddly she had a very different accent than usual which did not really make the movie look scarier than it was. Apparently the sick doctor is trying to find the right bone marrow or the organ to heal his beloved wife who is as sick as the doctor actually is. They are bringing people in and kill them to see if these people's anatomies are compatible with the doctor's wife. There are some moments like the naked's man storming in the room and collapsing on her spewing all his organs on the lead girl's face and her storming out of the room and more oddly the sick nurse's punching her blood soaking face but his hand's not getting any blood off of the girl's face. Failures and omissions are countless. The lead girl(Emily)tries to find her boy friend in the hospital and sees Jude( another victim) ripping his own arm and asking him what he is doing and he goes he is trying to find something under his skin and also saying he was given a pill. Then Emily tells him to stop and put a cloth on his ripped arm and they get out of the room and magically Jude's arm is perfectly and professionally wrapped. I think I don't really need to describe how awful this movie is . It is as bad as Human Centipede 2 . Years fly by but bad scary movies are still spot-on .
