A elderly Ladies son seeks a caregiver for his mom. Wanted to live his own life he settles on a young lady played deviously by the lovely and talented (Rachel Alig) that has all the answers and seems like the perfect women to care for his mom. The son has his bad packed and out the door before another word is said. At first the mom doesn't really care for her but soon grows to like and bond with her. Shortly after settling in she devised and idea to offer the basement to weary travelers Looking for free room and board. She convinces Marion the old lady about her idea and how wonderful it would be to meet new people! The boarders start checking and not checking out. This goes on till one day she falls for one of the passerby and his wife. She convinces him to be with her and he Joins her in her sick game. This movie has so many twists and turns, you never know what to expect or who to trust. There is plenty of very sensual scenes between the 2 main characters and you really get sucked into there demented twisted scheme. I am really impressed with everyone involved in this complex mystery. It is chilling and Rachel Alig is really captivating as the pretty psycho who has no conscience. I really want to see this young lady in more roles, she carried the movie and had you mesmerized. Glenda Morgan Brown as Granny was equally good and played her role with such substance, you really feel for her character and what she was going through! She felt abandoned and this young lady offered her companionship and friendship. She was no longer alone and had a constant friend. Being an Indy filmmaker who also did everything in his movie, I really respect Les Mahoney for taking not only the lead role, but also writting and Directing. He nailed each job perfectly. The chemistry between him and Rachel were realistically portrayed. I would like to see them reunite in another feature. I really enjoyed this and found it haunting and unsettling. If your into something different and not a color by number Predictable Slasher flick give this one a try. I fell in love with Rachel Alig, and loved her deliveries and performance. nickynickybad Rebecca is hired to keep Marion company by her son. Marion resists the idea that she needs help. Rebecca is charming & breaks through her resolve.She convinces Marion to post on a site that offers free rooms to traveling strangers. Meeting people is fun. Rebecca loves 'collecting' new friends.Don't be fooled by the acting. The compelling plot & slow onset of dread overcomes all. A twisted dark story. These sweet ladies can't be trusted.I am not a friend or family member. I gain nothing by this review. I just hate seeing worthy independent cinema slammed.

nmc-78454 I can't even believe some of these outlandish reviews of an, at BEST, mediocre film. I've seen high school productions more complex than this! To put this film in the same stratosphere as Hitchcock is laughable. Moreover, the "fantastic" camera-work would have achieved better results with a smartphone or dare I say, a Super 8. Not to mention, the 4 1/2 star Amazon Prime reviews from the 15 people (men) who reviewed it, clearly were only aroused by the unbearably awkward soft-core porn scenes. I WILL say, however, the glue or better yet, paste that hardly held this movie together was Glenda Morgan Brown. I happen to thoroughly enjoy indie films. In fact, I mostly prefer them. When you consider some of the BEST (in my opinion) indie films such as "Donnie Darko", "Lost In Translation", and of course "Reservoir Dogs", "At Granny's House" lacks substance and effort.

Lloyd Hance This was a great movie! There were so many twists and turns, you just never knew what was going to happen next. The movie had a great Hitchcockian feel, updated to the 21st century.The movie looked great, and had great music too.I was very impressed with the direction, and the acting was very strong too--especially Rachel Alig as Rebecca, Glenda Morgan Brown as Granny, Les Mahoney as Ted and Bill Oberst, Jr as Boarstag.I don't want to give anything away, but suffice it to say that this one will keep you on your toes until the last scene! Check it out when you can.
