ChanBot i must have seen a different film!!
Console best movie i've ever seen.
Hattie I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
abhivankit I simply fail to understand the parts which are supposed to be funny in this movie. Aamir and Salman both mentioned in their interviews that the test audience watching the rushes of AAA were ROFL-ing. If that is so, then they must have definitely watched some other version of the movie. Because the real audience back then in the theatres didn't find anything funny, and it's fate at the box office is known to everyone.
classicsoncall You've heard of or seen "Dumb and Dumber"? Well, this is the Indian version. Seriously, how did this film earn a top spot on IMDb last year (2016)? That's really the only reason I watched this film, currently sitting with an 8.3 rating as I write this. Come on, The Monkees were doing stuff like this in the Sixties for cryin' out loud. This picture reminded me of the cheesy kung-fu flicks of the Seventies with the crappy dubbing and the exaggerated mannerism of the characters. Compared to this, "3 Idiots" looked like Nobel Prize winners. I hope Pepsi Cola got their money's worth out of their product placement for this movie, there was a scene in which an entire building was covered with their red, white and blue graphics. This was truly a 'Waah Waah' production worthy of it's name. If you need a reason to see it, stay tuned for Raveena Tandon's appearance in the story, at which point you can turn it off right there. Fortunately, it's an early one.
Bore_dom Over the last year or so I've been attempting to watch my way through the IMDb top 250, and as a result have watched several Indian movies due to a recent influx of films to the list. While some films have been good (Lagaan, Drishyam, Gangs of Wasseypur as examples) there are those such as Andaz Apna that are woefully lacking in merit to be rated as highly as they are. The story line, filming style and sense of humour are akin to the British Carry on movies only with more musical interludes and an extra hour in length. The story line sees our two main characters competing for the love and affection of a wealthy heiress who has recently returned from London. What follows is a series of attempts to get close to her all the while inadvertently avoiding and preventing the death/capture of the girl by an evil criminal! Sounds ridiculous? that's because it is! It's certainly not all bad and there are some moments of humour and slapstick that do raise a smile and there are little parts of the story that are inventive. However overall this film lacks enough genuine laugh out loud moments and there is little to hold the attention throughout, especially when there are some clear directions the story is going in but it leaves you waiting and waiting before they materialise on screen.Don't base this film on a sole judgement of Indian movies, I know a number of people are unhappy at the inclusion of several 'overrated' movies in the IMDb Top 250 however it isn't the whole story, other Indian movies do warrant their inclusion, unfortunately Andaz Apna isn't one of them.
srikz-01 It is a light-heart old Indian comic , suitable only for the audience from Indian Sub-continent. My dear Non-Hindi speaking friends , its a good movie only if you understand Hindi . Does not make any sense for you to watch the movie dubbed in any other language ( as the comedy and timing goes well with the native language) because it is in TOP 250 list and then write a review that would be titled as "Spoiled My day " . No offense to anyone , everyone has their freedom to express their views like I did :)I have seen many non-Indian friends complaining about this , thus writing this review .
