Cleveronix A different way of telling a story
Donald Seymour This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
the_doofy This is one of those movies that has the gimmick of being in the gutter. By this I mean language is constantly pervasive, there is pervasive smoking, graphic drug use, lots of alcohol use, prostitution, this spectrum applies to police personnel while on duty no less. And while its Its not uncommon for gutter movies to do well, as some viewers look for these kind of movies, its followed by a very predictable story line and poor acting. I feel bad for a host of indie movies so much better than this thing across the spectrum.Poorly done movie in so many ways who's makers are keeping honest reviews off the webI notice some other bad reviews finally survived, 'they' could only block them for so long. This movie is so overrated, and the rating so corrupted, I intend to redo my review every time 'they' get it deleted off of IMDB
alexandrenguyen-fr 1 buck is a great 1st feature film with a very good cast. The movie doesn't pretend to be perfect or tend to go on this direction. It's very rare to have a low budget indi movie with this quality (frames, shots, the light and the acting). Some big studios should take example. Those bunch of idiots who wrote awful and stupid critics are just haters, they doesn't even know what is a good or bad movie. Anyway, 1 buck is a good thriller to watch and the 28 awards won are well deserved !
arthurw421 This film has a great idea: following a dollar bill as it changes hands, through a cast of mostly dysfunctional gritty characters, through a tale of murder, alcohol, sex, redneck racism, and drugs in Louisiana. What's not to like? Only a few things:1. The script2. The acting3. Wiggle-cam (not enough to induce nausea, but definitely enough to be annoying, intrusive, and an affectation). This is one of those films where it's hard to tell what's worse, the acting or the script. I think it's a tie. The cinematography is well crafted at times, if you can see through the wiggle-cam, but not enough to redeem the rest. I sat through the whole thing, but it was difficult.
TRex This movie has potential - some great scenes of down and out people in the American South - very gritty and well done. But alas the whole production didn't pull together, photography was to shaky and closed in. The cop with a tortured past has been done so many times and needs to be downplayed, all those flashbacks are boring. Very little research into the mind of serial killers, their trophy gathering, symbols and so on. Wanna be True Detective but fails as its overplayed and comes across as slightly misogynistic in some violent and crude scenes.
