In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Really impressed with this film. Hadn't heard anything about this film so was really surprised how good it was.
Terrible script, plot, production! Pacino was used to make his followers think it would be a decent movie. It's time for him to quit, if he's willing to do this type of work!
Yes I did. And a number of scenes I did like. But scenes do not make a movie. Not a whole one anyway.
Al Pacino has seen better days, but that may have been what he was going for. A jaded, tired old detective pulled off of doing nothing by his old partner... knowing Pacino's method style that maybe the case. Therefore I cannot judge the man by the role.
Karl Urban had nothing to go non but the standard cop routine so again this film is not an indication he ought to stcik to Star Trek films!
Britney Snow was good. She had perhaps the best role in the film as far as scenes and dialog.
The killer?? Nothing new here. High IQ psycho with a grudge against not just life but a particular person - all been done before.
While I wanted to like it, in the end (which really was terrible), I couldn't. Four stars for the Pacino\Urban\Snow dynamic.
I enjoyed the film! This is my usual genre- Mystery, Action, Thriller etc...I don't do stupid comedies & love stories...well, not unless its loaded w/killing action etc. My point is, I've seen lots of Bad and "B" movies & would NOT rate this as one. It isn't high, fast action, but serial's usually aren't...more mystery who dunnit... which this does have. It's not Zodiac, but was good, and I'd have no problem watching again or seeing the sequel if made. Sure there were a couple parts I went "Oh come on!" (Train hanging w/the car) but that's stupid writer sht. & found in most movies.
..and WTH is with the negative nelly's dis'n on Pacino & Urban they were both great in this! I'm a fan of both, and they've both been in much worse films!!
