FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Celia A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
jerekra The Transformers Cartoon from the 1980s is easily one of the greatest cartoons of all time. There are just so many classic and awesome transfomers out there. I really am a fan of transformers but just the first two seasons are what does it for me. After the animated movie was made I really did not watch the series much. I did like the new live action movie though. These first two seasons are great though. All of the classic characters are there. Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Soundwave, Megatron, Starscream, Ravage, Grimlock, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Sludge, Skywarp, Prowl, there are so many that I could not begin to list them all. The show is great, awesome dialogue and lots of action. My personal favorites were always Grimlock and Soundwave. Frank Welker is the greatest voice actor ever. TO conclude this series of Transformers is The Transformers at its peak and at its best.
SuPeRCrAzYoi Overrated and only for those people in their 20's whom wear particularly thick rose tinted glasses, who never actually saw it in the first place because they were to young. Awful animation, dialogue and a tired narrative. A real product of the 80's, the novel gimmick of a puzzle TOY (thats right, TOY not the absurd, pretentious and child alienating "collectors action figurine"), sold on the back of a poor cartoon and other paraphernalia, only matters to those who bought the TOY when they were "actual" children in the period of '84' to '87'. It Has become cult because of those same adults are to immature to let go of their memories. Avoid.
lee-437 I love Transformers! As a matter of fact, i've grown up with it since I was 5 years old.The Autobots are the good guys and the Decepticons are the bad guys like the leaders are complete opposites. Optimus Prime is a father figure to his fellow Autobots like his Security Chief Ironhide, the mad scientist Wheeljack, the medic Ratchet, and his right hand men Jazz and Prowl and cares for every one of them as well as making friends with Spike Witwicky and his father Sparkplug. Later in the series, Spike gets romantically involved with Carly and eventually in the movie they are married with a boy called Daniel. The Decepticon leader Megatron is a tyrant hellbent on conquering the universe but also a rational leader too, because he has a treacherous second in command called Starscream trying usurp him as the leader of the Decepticons. Then in Season 2, it's the same Autobot/Decepticon struggle with some new sub-groups like the Protectobots, Combaticons, Aerialbots and Stunticons. Then in post-movie Season 3 there's a new threat in the shape of the Quintessons who were the creators of all the Transformers. There's new leaders on both sides like Rodimus Prime who is unsure if he will measure up to Optimus Prime who was killed in the movie. Also the new Decepticon leader Galvatron is nothing like Megatron, power-crazed and insane due to exposure to lava plasma on the planet Thrull and both commanders have a loyal second in command. With the Autobots there's Ultra Magnus who has a straight forward attitude to Rodimus Prime's cavalier and carefree attitude and with the Decepticons there's Cyclonus who has a strict but honourable attitude towards his enemies.Absolute Science-fiction classic!!
Aaron1375 Transformers, for me were the coolest toys as you could actually do something with them, hey they transformed. The cartoon was a very good compliment to said toys. It followed the story of the Autobots who were good and the Decepticons who were well not good. They raged most of their battles on earth and the show was at its best during the first season and parts of the second season. The ones that occurred after the movie were pretty good, but then I thought the headmaster and target master miniseries that would mark the end of the Transformers generation one was very weak as it was nothing but one big toy commercial and featured many Transformers that were never introduced before playing a rather large role. My favorite episodes usually involved the Decepticons called Constructicons. Six robots that formed the super robot Devastater. They were my favorite toys as a kid and I actually still have them. The show was not without other problems than just the weak ending. A lot of problems stem from problems with the plot and origins of some of the robots. Apparently, they didn't think a kid could remember how a robot was introduced so they created a new origin. Such as Devastator. Clearly introduced in season one as being created on earth they would in a later episode show them having been on Cybertron and they were good guys no less. Also, it was clearly shown you could make a new transformer on earth, but in later episodes it was shown you had to use a special device to infuse them with personality. Still, the problems were not enough to steer me away from this cool cartoon.
