Highly Overrated But Still Good

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

Short, sweet and to the point, this series was GREAT. My wife and I loved it. It had something for both sexes and was thoroughly entertaining. The actress who played Alison Laithwaite is called Jessica Raine and she was absolutely fantastic in her role, as was all the other actors really. To sum up I would beg the producers for a new series, this one was spot on.

Hard to believe that anyone received any military input here. The RMP personnel show no inclination toward basic military training beyond salutes and gin at the O Club. The over-acting is cringe-worthy most of the time. If you like sloppy-drunk adulteresses you will love the female love interest but she drove me away after three episodes.

None of the combat scenes are historically accurate. The use of "over and out" for radio communications indicates that not one of the writers, show runners, or actors had any experience with actual military communications via radio. The huge plot holes (the SAS guys from on the other side of the mountain morph into guys from the base (??????? what??????) and nonsensical plot points in episodes 2-4, along with 3 or 4 soap opera tropes per episode (god, I fully expect an amnesia based character at any moment...)This thing is total dreck
