michellegassaway This is a show that has not once but a million times made me (not only) laugh OUT LOUD to myself (and by myself), but also tear up like a baby without its binky, so frustrated I damn near spilt my remote in half, and feel so happy my heart warmed up like a piece of toast in the oven. As you can see I'm a huge fan, and felt so inspired to write this review right after watching the last episode, I'm still wiping away some tears, I'm expecting the movie to be not so awesome but I can't help but to continue the life of these impeccable women and there journeys through the wild city of New York. I grew up on the west coast my whole life, and after watching this show I have now visited to east side of the country, well New York City I should say, it gives off such a great example of how the ins n outs, the do's and donts, the weather, the people, the fashion, the gold parts and the dirt parts, and all around a taste of what it's like to live in the big apple. please women, if you have sex on your mind and the city in your heart. WATCH and be ready to get hooked
Ana As I ran out of shows to watch while folding the laundry or doing school work I decided to give Sex and the City (a supposed classic) a shot. And I have to admit, for shallow entertainment it kept me hooked for quite a while, but my mistake was trying to take the show seriously. Only at this point do you see how it is actually wrong on so many levels. The characters are extremely unrealistic and shallow. It baffles me how four women with such successful and well paying jobs have time to hang out every single day and talk about sex. They also do not develop at all throughout the show, they keep showing the same stereotypical behavior which creates the drama they can bitch about in the first place over and over again, without learning from their mistakes. Now, I have never been to New York but to me it seems highly unlikely that every single man there is a sex hungry antichrist. One night stands are considered as normal as breakfast and there is no shame in being a woman in your mid thirties yet behaving like a 17 year old. These women are also experts at sweeping men of their feet yet in real life their behavior would be considered extremely unattractive. Whiny, bitter, spoiled and foulmouthed they don't even portray the C in Class. We should be seeing them as empowering but yet they do things that only someone with extremely low self respect would do to themselves. Since when has it become empowering for women to behave so cheap? Why do we have to behave like (some) men to show we are strong and independent? No intelligent girl or woman would approve of the message this show is trying to bring to us. Having said all this I want to remind you once again that you will only notice these things if you choose to take the show seriously, if however you just need some no-brain entertainment to fill your time, it's actually pretty okay!
willrali I loved this TV show. It was the primary reason for my move to NYC in 2012 and I was delighted to find the city looked just like it did in the show. But the show lied. NYC is so expensive that I've had to live with a roommate for years just so I could live in the UWS. I just wanted the lives that the women in the show have but I've been spending most of my money on rent and most of my time at work! And every man I've dated has turned out to be a cheater and a d-bag. There was one guy who just used me for sex while planning his wedding to his actual girlfriend, who I didn't know about for the longest time. And before you say I should look in the outer boroughs for guys, no way. I have actual standards. I'm not settling for some broke dude from the Bronx or butthole Queens.Where is my Mr Big? I just want to be able to choose the right guy, so I can get away from my pokey apartment and my room mate and finally enjoy NYC without needing to worry about how I'll pay for the clothes I need. I've lived here long enough to be a native and I have tons of native friends, but all the decent guys are taken or gay. There must be somebody with my time in all of Manhattan! So F-U, SATC, for encouraging all those dumb stupid chicks from Jersey or wherever to move to the city for two years before they run away back home. They're muddying all the waters and giving all the best guys too much to choose from. Stay home!
verooonika-rehackova If there is a one thing which every girl in this world need to see it surely is Sex and the city! After all Carrie and her perfect blue Manolo Blahnik pumps became the idol of almost every woman. She and bunch of her friends are everything that modern girl wants. This serial for me personally is something like a bible, thing i grew up on and something that will always has a place in my DVD collection so I can see it again for like 100th time. In conclusion I want to say a big THANK to Carrie and her three friends (Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha) to show me the lifestyle I want to live. Every one of them is else but at the end, they are all the same. All four of them will be forever in my heart.
