Kattiera Nana I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
KnotMissPriceless Why so much hype?
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
RavenGlamDVDCollector What brought my score down to 6 is the fourth season, and onwards it will be the same, I suppose. I'm currently watching season 5 and the magic of the first three seasons is just not there anymore. First off, let me just say that the whole thing isn't my kind of thing at all, but this particular show came to my attention via photos in magazines, and those eyes, those eyes, those eyes...It will come as no surprise to all of you out there that Jennifer Love Hewitt is one of my all-time favorites, and I've got a considerable lot of her movies and series. She is at her very best in PARTY OF FIVE season 2. Gee, Bailey doesn't deserve a girl like Sarah! The story is totally warm-hearted. Of course, the original idea is centered in the first season. It stretched well into the second season, even the third. It began getting too morose for me with the story arc involving cancer, and at that time JLH was obviously off shooting one of her hit movies, as Sarah only had token appearances.I do apologize for adding my bit that brings the overall view down a bit, I do realize this is a show much loved by its followers, and I have great respect for that. But I maintain that it all goes downhill from around midway. By the way, my least favorite character is Julia Salinger. I well remember that Neve Campbell was a super-hot star at the onset, but she really, really fizzles out very, very soon. Whiny and a total drag. A total disappointment.Lacey Chabert at her best during Claudia's violin-playing days. And I'm not at all a violin-lover. But that kid, wow, she was to get all fuzzy about. Now that she's growing up, the very likable Claudia is just not there anymore.Sarah is a dream girl. Wow, she is everything nice. Lookswise, character-wise. She is just 'to put your arms around and hold her tight' and oh yeah, I'll pretty soon have to post one of my rantings against DVD-unavailability again for TIME OF YOUR LIFE, because however much PARTY OF FIVE sags on my personal rating, I'd want to continue with the sequel, and it will most likely never be released on DVD.
Armand for me, it is source of nice memories. not only for the superposition with my adolescence period, for the realism of script or the role of nursery for a lot of talented young actors, but for the courage of story. for the science to not transform the evolution of characters in a kind of plasticine and new presences as solution of ideas crisis. a lesson about feelings and links, bravery and falls, it is more than a series for teens. it may be model of understand of life as more than adventure or miracle but as way of self definition. with measure and courage. a source of good memories. interesting performances. and useful stories. that may be all !
cangemi44 I am a die-hard Party of Five fan! I saw every single episode except the last 2 in the final season :( I refuse to let anyone tell me what happened, I have to experience it for myself! At the rate the DVD's are being released I'll be a grandma before I see how it all ends. Does anyone have the final 2 episodes and would you be willing to share them with me? Thanks a ton...I know you feel my pain!I totally agree with one of the comments posted on here...Party of Five was such an amazing show, you could really feel the intensity, anguish and heartbreak of the characters. I was mesmerized every week as I shared in the Salingers' lives and was so bummed when the show came to an end. But I am very happy to see "Charlie" (Matthew Fox) having such great success with Lost!
fessany This was a great series with many twist and turns along the way. Starting off, I believe it was 6 months or so after a couple is killed by a drunk driver they leave behind 5 children to care for themselves. The oldest in which was Charlie (Matt fox), was about 24yrs old or so. He had to take charge and keep his family together so they weren't split up in to foster homes. He was an average guy who liked girls and to drink and have fun. But was all of a sudden made a father of 4 kids in an instant. Next, was Bailey (Scott Wolf) about 16yrs old and throughout the series had many problems with things such as drinking, girls, and of course raising a family. In many ways Bailey was the adult. He was a take charge type person inwhich had to grow up very fast, like no sixteen year old should have to do. I could relate to Bailey's character in many ways in my own life, even though I don't drink and probably never will, I have more fun without. Now we come to Julia (Neve Campbell) she is about 15 yrs old and is going through a time in her life inwhich no girl shouldn't have a mother to talk to. Of course, she makes many mistakes such as having sex for the first time drunk at Charlie's wedding or at least we hoped would be his wedding. She also was abused by a boyfriend later on inwhich she defended his action's, but deep down knew that she needed out of that situation. She went through a lot during the 6 yrs it was on, but was a absolute wonderful character and I don't believe anyone else could of done it as well as Neve did. And now we come to child number four Claudia (Lacey Chabert) which I believe had it the hardest in many ways she is about 12yrs old and her life has changed for ever in an instant. She is such a sweet and curious girl. Lacey is so natural as an actress and I believe she will be around for as long as she likes. In her own life i'm sure being in the spotlight of millions of viewers while growing up literally in front of us had to be a difficult thing. Now the youngest of the five is Owen (Jacob Smith) inwhich was played by more then one actor when younger, but I remember him best because he had more story line during the last season or two. He was about 6 months old when the show started so he wouldn't have any memories of his parents just what his siblings tell him and from photo's. This was a great series and I would like to see a reunion movie in the future, but know that that cast will not be doing that anytime soon. I just hope that we will see all the characters in new and upcoming projects for many years to come.
