GazerRise Fantastic!
Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Ava-Grace Willis Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
darbski ***SPOILERS*** That's what I said, folks. There ain't NO Bo here, just regular looking people doing their regular jobs of trying to clean up the mess that us get ourselves into. Not that I'm sympathetic to the criminals they try to catch. They're human too, just not the kind of human any of us want around because they kill people. THIS is where Joe Kenda, and the police force he served on come in. There episodes show - as well as possible - how difficult it can be to find, and stop these killers before they kill again, and the way it takes away from their family life. Joe himself does the telling of these stories, and his matter-of-fact presentation leaves him at the top of the Cop Show heap. Right along with "The First 48", this program will take you through what it typically takes to handle the normal operations of a Robbery-Homicide division, and how they interact with other divisions within their departments. Yup, that's right. This show always gives credit where it is due. To the Uniform Cops, as well. This is one of the best ever made, and I must recommend it to those who are (as I am) sick of the preening pretties who populate network "police shows". This one's a 10+.
mmukasa What I like so much about this show is the depth of Joe Kenda's thoughtfulness. This show is far above the typical sensational crime stories and delves into deep human issues and social and personal interactions. I also appreciate how much he explains about his approaches to homicide investigation. He gives a sort of deeper understanding into tragic events (thus the word play on his name "Zenda.") To me he makes me think of a Zen teacher with his insights. "The Art of Homicide Investigation" is a play off of the title of Robert Pirsig's classic book "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance." Another plus is also how he has a sense of humor and can be ironic. I really like the show. I personally don't watch crime shows that are like soap operas or just horror stories or kinds.I don't usually Investigation Discovery kinds show shows which don't seem to have the depth was this one "Homicide Hunter: Lt/ Kendal" is definitely on a top notch show for me.
Nick First let me say I love true crime shows and have watched them all.Homicide Hunter was very good in its early seasons. However the show has fallen off in the last few seasons. A documentary crime show is only as good as the crimes or crime the show is documenting. The problem with Homicide Hunter over the last few years, is the crimes covered. Most have been either uninteresting, or simple open and shut cases that were dragged out like they were whodunits. I've read many court documents of the cases covered in homicide hunter(most can be found easily on google) because I suspected many of the cases were not as difficult as the show made it seem. Sure enough with many of the cases the suspect was known almost immediately or the case was solved almost immediately. Also on many of these case facts detectives on the case were mentioned but not Lt. Joe Kenda. The problem with Homicide Hunter is its a show covering Colorado Springs where there just aren't as many murders or interesting, random, mystery type homicides to pick from as in Washington D.C., Detroit, New York etc. They have run out of good crimes to cover. The first 2 or maybe 3 seasons were good though. The best documentary crime shows ever are still the early ones, FBI Files, Forensic Files.
stacyb139 Oh wow, when I first discovered this show a few months ago, I couldn't believe I had never watched it or even heard of it before. I'm a true crime addict and I enjoy reading stories that are non- fiction and all of the true crime and forensic science programs that are on cable. Being a retired pharmaceutical scientist, I really get a kick out of the dialogue when the actors talk about gas chromatography, UV and IR spectroscopy, microscopic analysis, and on and on. It's like I'm part of a secret decoder club, lol.Anyway, I do so love me some Lt. Joe Kenda! I think I am turning into a real fan-girl for him!! He has the 'cop face' for sure (I've been married to one for 25 years so I ought to know) and his demeanor is spot on (reminds me of my uncle- retired NYPD).Lt. Kenda, may God Bless you and Keep you. You seem like an awesome man and I'm quite sure you never met a guilty perp that you didn't have the satisfaction of throwing into the klink.
