Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
GurlyIamBeach Instant Favorite.
Adeel Hail Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Dana H All three seasons are great. I loved how the show turned a decent movie into a incredibly intricate series. Of course it is not perfect and there are slow spots but otherwise this is an great series from start to finish and everything about it works for me. I would highly recommend this series. The basic premise is the same for the movie. Two bank robbing brothers kidnap a family to get over the border into Mexico to meet their contact where they end up in a battle of life and death. What the show does is add a few characters most notably the Texas Ranger who fatefully gets put in their path. Season 2 and 3 go off in different directions and have people debating on if they are as good as the first but they work for me. I loved them just as much as the first season because they continue the tale a way that makes sense and and finally end it in a way that is acceptable to me. I would recommend this to almost anyone.
amesmonde The First season followed the beats of the film, encapsulates some of its Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino DNA. Seth (D.J. Cotrona), Richie (Zane Holtz) and Santanico (Eiza González) are solid throughout. The second season no longer chained to the narrative of the film goes into fresh uncharted territory expanding the mythology, the practical effects are great but some of the CGI falls short. The third season is a bit of a letdown, while it includes some cult actors and past characters, it further expands the folklore, but has become a 'monster week'cheap thrill. And although the effects are well done they are poorly lit leaving feeling very cheap looking and Buffy like. Overall entertaining but loosing it's steam with each passing episode. The story keeps it intriguing but the execution appears to have lost it's way which is a shame as everyone appears to be giving 100%.
mysticnox It is nothing at all like the movies. And I do mean nothing. There are no similarities. It is much more like Supernatural than From Desk Till Dawn. But even then, there are limits because the actors aren't nearly as charming, attractive and magnetic as Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The stories aren't nearly as interesting. Basically... it's something to watch. Take up your time. I'm at a complete loss as to how in the world this show has such high ratings. It's as simple, and as sad, as that. Next time, the creators might like to think up a new name.
Mike G to start with, i haven't seen the movies before. But after seeing this show, i regret that cause that 90 mins movie would have saved me 10 hours of crap. lets start with the boring characters, in the first episodes, we are introduced with flashbacks from the characters to explain how they are in this particular situation in the movie. for instance the bank robbery, i thought they will be a twist or something weird happened and interesting. it was the most boring robbery i ever seen, introducing some characters which were empty like the bank guard and the lady who they kidnapped. Have you seen Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel ? well the vampires-snakes like in this movie is a worse version of those in the aforementioned shows with funny teeth which look like a Halloween extension bought from Jumbo store for kids. one of the vampires (Carlos) is roaming the city with gloves on (the sun burn his hands) but his face is totally revealed and it seems OK, the sun thing works only on hands for some reason. The two brothers have 30 million dollars stolen and for some reason this money is very important for some high rank vampires in the end, which was utterly stupid cause those vampires literally can kill anyone they want and shape-shift to his appearance. So why would i be interested with this money where they could have killed that bank girl and shape-shift to her and steal the money ? or for that sense any rich person in the world !!! The stupid labyrinth that you have no idea how big it is, they just show you rooms and tunnels, and for some reason characters keep finding themselves in it. that dude who was living in that labyrinth for months but they never explain how he survived in small room uh (toilet, water, food) ? The Human grinder which actually connect the Bar with the labyrinth for some unknown reason Lol. why they will be an exit for a human grinder ? why it has a place where you can actually stand where the whole point if grind corpses ? obviously the corpses will be stuck at that small stand and someone has to go and push them to the grinder every now and then. The annoying Girl that keep calling Seth half of the show !!! and who the hell is The nine lords of the night ?? Lol i can go on and on, I just wasted 10 precious hours of my life. Please if you are reading this review do yourself a favor and stay away from this show. i have no idea whats wrong with the other too many positive reviews. i took the bait i guess.
