Synopsis

Food Party is an American television series that airs on the Independent Film Channel in the United States. The show is a pseudo-reality cooking show filmed on an elaborate, technicolored cardboard kitchen set. Each episode features multi-course, out-of-this-world gourmet meals cooked up by hostess Thu Tran and a cast of colorful puppets for arriving "celebrity" guests. The show was originally produced and filmed in Cleveland for two web series based episodes, and later relocated to Brooklyn for the final web series episodes and six IFC produced shows. In October 2010 Thu Tran announced that the show was not picked up by IFC for a third season.

AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Brainsbell The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
jimy23 Food Party is one of the most surreal shows i have seen since Pee Wee's playhouse there both very much alike. Thu Tran the host is one the few Asian Americans in a comedy on TV that does not act like a stereotype. This whole show looks like it was made on drugs the set art the puppets the special effects and the food all appear to be inspired by pot shrooms and LSD surreal shows like this are right up my alley it's nonsensical fun and make little to no sense. This reminds me a lot of a lighter verison of geek maggot bingo with the cheap panted background. the puppets are Italian chef who is voiced by Peter van Hyning the shows Writer and there's baguette a french bread Voiced by Zachariah Durr another writer. There are some trippy effects like a tie dye puppet that tru makes a glowing tie dye cookie from she trips out after eating it.I became a Fan of this just after hearing about it I hope Thu Tran the other people involved do more projects I have heard of Thu's talent in cooking and prop designs that was used for the series.
edelbeb The acting is bad and the production values are dismal, and the stories are simplistic (although the show does not qualify as camp). Yet, despite or because of the above, this show is original and hilarious. Even though I don't use drugs, the Barney/Julia Child/Sherry Lewis on acid/stoner vibe hooks me. Also, the people involved with the show enjoy what they do, and their enthusiasm is infectious. It's tempting to imagine this show with better acting/production. But the ingredients of Food Party are finely balanced and blend to form an offbeat yet tasty dish. Changing any of those ingredients risks ruining the meal.
link367 This show is one of the most creative shows I've ever seen. The set is my favorite part because there is always something new or interesting to look at. For example, there is sometimes a rave going on in the freezer. The main character is a little strange at first but then you fall in love with her and her antics. There is sometimes a story but who cares about that. If you want a good story go watch HBO because its amazing. But Food Party is a show you can just watch and laugh at. This show has so much heart it reminds me of something Michel Gondry would do. I think this show would do better on a network like Cartoon network on adult swim.Go watch this show now!
Bash_McNasty I'm really not sure what to say about this show. I would like to point out that I am 22 and watch all the goofy/random shows such as Whitest Kids U Know, Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Xavier: Renegade Angel, etc. This show is just insane. Even compared to those.I gave it 6 stars because it did make me laugh a few times, although I couldn't tell you if it was because something was funny, or because sheer confusion gave me no other option. If you haven't taken a large quantity of drugs, I really don't see you enjoying this show. You have 2 options watching it: you can try to make sense of it, which will just leave you kicking yourself in the head, or you can just accept it for what it is, and then probably just find it extremely dumb. For whatever reason I did watch a few episodes hoping that maybe it would begin to make more sense, and the answer is no it did not. Now if you want to watch something that is unlike anything you've ever seen before, this is definitely the show for you.
