Wordiezett So much average
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Logan By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
JohnHowardReid Here's one for May Robson fans. She has the title role and she easily creams the rest of the cast, thanks not only to her excellent performance, but a script that obviously was deliberately written to showcase her. Mind you that although May Robson dominates the action, the rest of the players turn in excellent work too, particularly the lovely, charismatic Irene Hervey (whatever happened to her? I can't recall any other starring or startling roles that she enjoyed). Dean Jagger has a showcase role too, while Douglas Dumbrille plays with his usual charisma as the main villain.Director Lynn Shores keeps the action moving at an excellent pace as the script moves to a superb climax. A fair amount of money was expended on this entertaining entry which was formerly available on an excellent Vintage Film Buff DVD. It's a movie that will appeal to almost everyone.
