Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
adonis98-743-186503 A former U.S. soldier returns to his hometown to find it overrun by crime and corruption, which prompts him to clean house. Action Packed, Hilarious and full of kicking and punching 'Walking Tall' has The Rock at his best doing what he knows best, Johnny Knoxville is also good as his friend and Neal McDonough is perfect as the film's main antagonist plus i loved the fight scenes in the Casino and the final confrontation in the woods also the scene in the Court was dramatic enough and Dwayne showcased some fantastic dramatic chops, overall a great and terrific action film. (A+)
mistoppi I just chose a random movie from Netflix. Well, not that random, I just wanted something with The Rock. ' When you haven't read a summary, it's hard to follow a movie. Like I still don't know what part of this movie was the main point in the plot. When Chris Vaughn went against the people in the casino? When he became sheriff? The story is pretty typical, not good but not bad either. You watch the movie, hoping Chris Vaughn will get the bad guys, but otherwise are you invested in him? Or in anyone? Like most characters bring something to the story, but no one is really that interesting. Well, there was a moment when I started thinking about the main character's past, because it was never really revealed to us, but his actions seemed to reveal a little something. Yet nothing was truly said out loud, so that was only a little moment. When watching Walking Tall I kept thinking that the movie is basically bad decisions after another. Sure, Chris Vaughn has his heart in the right place and all that, but mostly I had to shake my head. Why, Chris? Why the hell would you do that? Also how he became sheriff, fired everyone and only hired his friend? No way, that would never work. The worst idea ever!Apart from few interesting details this movie is extremely boring to watch. It's simple though, it's satisfying but it doesn't stand out, it doesn't really feel like anything. Kind of a waste of time because of how average it is.
My_Pet_Mongoose This was pretty much as I was expecting--a watered-down, generic action vehicle for Dwayne Johnson. It's pretty much why I waited eight years to check it out.Johnson has the charisma and stature of a serious action star but now, 10 years into his film career, I can't name any iconic characters that he's played or flat-out great films that he's been in. In the same amount of time (say 1982 to 1992) Arnie was already Conan and the Terminator and in Predator, Twins and Total Recall. Johnson is a man who needs to headline a top-tier action franchise and he needs it now (F&F and GI Joe are more ensemble pieces). That being said, Walking Tall is sorely lacking in substance and flair. The working-class, flag-waving, take-no-BS attitude is completely canned and the storyline is best forgotten (which is easy enough). It has virtually no connection to the original Buford Pusser events or the previous adaptations, to it's discredit.I had to entertain myself for much of the second half with an awesome idea for "Walking Bad" in which the Chris Vaughn character moves to New Mexico and takes on Walter White.WALTER WHITE: I'm the one who knocks.CHRIS VAUGHN: I'm the one who knocks...teeth out with my Vaughn stick.Only recommended if you absolutely *heart* the Rock or have never seen an episode of the A-Team, read a Jack Reacher novel, seen Roadhouse, are tired of watching the Rundown, etc. and your roommate accidentally left his DVD when he moved out and you have nothing better to do.
Micdriver I admire this man's reasoning (Chris Vaughn) on the matter which propels him to move forward in this matter. He must pay the price to make practicality rise with(in) the LAW. He must prove himself worthy of it's words and insist. The law may seem within all of us and he is bringing forth more witnesses as this tale of the heart regarding importance matters to us all and regardless of any color or race. The heart of a man in Chris Vaughn brings about speculation and a respect of values. Watch further as this mind ensues and sincerely commits to a challenge. A man must look into his conscience in respect to thine honorable feelings remitting doubt and to make matters clear within the spirit of the peoples of a town, and perhaps all of us. Watch consciously-beware.
