Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
Francene Odetta It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
troyhawke "When the class war starts, it will start here in Neptune"??? Really? I see Veronica Mars is still the same liberal moronic drivel that it always was. Rich/white men are basically scumbags and cops are corrupt, racist idiots. You know how the rest goes. Get a job Kirsten Bell, a real one that you actually have talent for. That goes for the rest of the cast as well.
Ole Sandbaek Joergensen I don't remember the series, but maybe that would have helped with some of the characters and their relations. It doesn't actually matter, it is a good film, quit entertaining, has a lot of humor along side the more series detective work. It is primarily Kristen Bell as Veronica that has the snide and funny remarks, but also her farther played by Enrico Colantoni is quite good.It annoyed me a bit, that the choices go from very grownup Veronica Mars, being serious, trying out for a new job at a high-priced law firm, to seeing this falling back into the old style of the town where she grew up and went to school. I know this is what she wants, but it just seems a bit too fetched.
jimbo-53-186511 The first 10-15 minutes of this film were good and I'll admit that it showed promise in the early stages, but the potential it had at the beginning ended up being wasted very quickly.Despite all the problems, I must admit that I did like the character of Veronica Mars. I found her to be sassy, cool & confident. I liked Kristen Bell's performance and thought that she brought as much life to the character as she could and she actually made her character quite fun. The film isn't too bad as a mystery film - not a great mystery film mind and certainly not one that will have you glued to your seat, but it was OK. That's about as much praise as I can give this film....The main issue that I had with this film is that it was so annoying; it centres around a load of spoilt rich kids and the viewer is left trying to work out which annoying rich kid committed the crime. Imagine the film Clueless as a murder mystery film and you get the idea of what this film is like. I really hated all of the characters (except Veronica Mars) and found them all to be shallow and one dimensional - at times I was just one 'Whatever' 'As If' or 'Girlfriend' away from me putting my foot through the TV.To the film's credit, it does throw in the usual twists & turns & red herrings as we would expect from the genre, but for me I just didn't care. I thought that there wasn't enough focus on Veronica Mars and her investigations and too much focus on her annoying friends. If I'm being honest I lost interest by the halfway mark making it a tough old slog to get to the end of it.Although it didn't appeal much to me, I suspect that those in the younger demographic may enjoy it more than I did as they may see some of the characters as being cool rather than annoying. However, for me this was a misfire.
Roland E. Zwick I must confess that I've seen only a few episodes of "Veronica Mars," the cult series that ran on cable TV from 2004 to 2007. I make that declaration right up front merely to emphasize that I come to the movie version largely unencumbered by any pre-conceived notions of what it ought to be.The movie picks up nine years after the close of the series. Veronica Mars, the famous teen private eye who worked out of her dad's PI office through most of high school, has long ago put away her amateur sleuthing in favor of law school, with the hope of securing a promising job with a prestigious law firm in New York City. However, when her ex- boyfriend (Jason Dohring) is charged with killing his celebrity girlfriend, Veronica returns to her hometown of Neptune, California, to help clear his name and find the actual culprit. For fans of the show, the movie version of "Veronica Mars" is clearly the equivalent of old home week, giving devotees a chance to catch up with old friends, seeing how much they've changed and finding out what they've all been up to since last they checked in on them. Indeed, it is nearly impossible to overstate the emotional pull and feeling of connection that often come with serialized television shows. For non- fans, however, the movie can't possibly generate nearly as much interest or affection, and the call-backs and in-jokes are lost on that particular segment of the audience. Moreover, the murder mystery plot that director Rob Thomas and his co- writer Diane Ruggiero have come up with is serviceable at best and boring at worst. Kristen Bell is captivating and winning as the clever and feisty Veronica, and she is aided by a bevy of subsidiary performers who have clearly grown quite comfortable in the roles they're playing. However, fun as it obviously was for the actors to re-unite on this project, that sense of fun doesn't always translate to the screen. Indeed, there's a decided lack of urgency and passion in the production, one that makes us wonder if it might not have been better to have simply let "Veronica Mars" rest in peace.
