Meg Ryan also has a significant, though brief, supporting role.This is a rather iconic film-in part for its place in Cruise's filmography, and also for its quotable lines and memorable scenes. It exudes a certain chic due to its use of fast vehicles and classic fashion choices. This is one of the best known films of its decade.

This is the movie that secured Tom Cruise's status as a superstar because he became really popular after it. It is indeed a great movie and Tom Cruise is beautiful and badass and has beautiful acting. This movie has some emotional moments as well. Also, I think it is better to watch this movie in English language with subtitles rather than dubbed. It's cool that all this flying was real and they really filmed it inside the jets. Tom Cruise reminded me a lot of my brother in this movie.
This movie will also teach you that teamwork is important, also arrogance might be cool but should be forgotten when it's time to be responsible, because we're all together at the end of the day. Also makes me think that competition on other hand is really useful because it motivates you to spend more time doing something to become better. Love Tom Cruise's uniform.
This movie is mostly positive, but does have some sad moments as well.

AVGN's review of the video game based on this waste of time of a movie is more entertaining.This film has some nice shots of the planes and unfortunately the only thing this film has going for it. That's probably where this film gets it cult status and classic status. Unfortunately this film has no story, I would say about every actor in this film is wasted.

What fun this movie is! Handsome dashing fighter pilots vying to be the best of the best and be awarded Top Gun. The music really pushes this film over the top. Rock-n-Roll when it needs to be, yet also sexy and romantic. This movie has it all. The high flying action sequences, the pithy comedic classroom scenes, the shirtless locker room and beach scenes (eye candy for all the ladies!). Buckle in and get ready for a ride. I feel the need, the need for speed!
