Alicia I love this movie so much
SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
studioAT Scarlett Johansson doesn't pop up in this sort of light comedy/romantic comedy genre much, so this is a rare occasion to see her display just how funny she can be.This isn't the best film in the world, it doesn't try to be. What it is though is a decent enough comedy, with some nice laughs along the way. It's a surprise to see that Johansson is so good at comedy and is well supported by Laura Linney in her role.If you're looking for an easy going comedy then this one has a lot going for it.
kikiham93 It's a rich family's story. They have only money without love. Someone lives in a hypocritical life and try to make it look perfectly. I like the little boy Grayer most. The kids always get hurt because of their parents' problem. He just needs them to stay with him. He is really touching me. But I not really like the nanny. She is too beautiful and sexy to be a nanny! I still have other imagines of her as Black Widow in The Avengers. It's more suitable for her. And the guy is bad all the time. Cheating, Betray is the typical selfish man only think about itself. Fortunately, it leads to a happier ending for all but I hope to see the MR X be punished more.
hellolori Very sweet. I enjoyed this movie...even broke out the Kleenex. Perfect movie for a lazy late afternoon. Hmmm... Seems I need 10 lines of text. That's silly, but here goes. Scarlett J is adorable in the movie as a brunette. She can wear anything. She's a very believable actress. I don't know the actor that plays her love interest, but well done. What a cutie and a good actor, as well. Laura Linney, as the neurotic, ever controlling, heartless, emotionally absent mommy, plays the roll of hard-hearted protagonist to the hilt. She's cold, she's wicked, she's self- absorbed, she's judgmental, lacking empathy and any maternal skills that might help make her slightly likable. And who is the a or who plays the daddy? I like him. He plays a jack-off quite well. He fit the role excellently! I realize this review isn't much help...lol... but have a great day anyway. :)
Dan1863Sickles So many brilliant reviewers have sliced up this appalling mess of a movie that I don't even want to pile on, but I would like to say a few words about Laura Linney. She is so beautiful, so brilliant, so wasted in this movie. The bored, neglected, stunningly beautiful and achingly lonely woman she portrays is a tiresome caricature of a type that is at least 100 years out of date. Edith Wharton wrote about this kind of woman really well, and it's no accident that Laura Linney was a superbly cruel, lovely and convincing Bertha Dorsett in an otherwise forgettable film of THE HOUSE OF MIRTH.So don't watch THE NANNY DIARIES. Go watch Laura Linney in THE HOUSE OF MIRTH instead. Oh, and watch Scarlett Johannsen in VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA. Because that's the movie where she really proves she can look beautiful all the time, even with a wine glass in her hand.
