BallWubba Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
EBJ Overall: This movie is a fun little heartwarming tale which will suffice you for it's shockingly short run time but feels pointless in the long run.Good: The great characters from the original resurface with their signature personalities each equipped with great voice acting. The visuals have been drastically upgraded which I feel makes the movie lose the charm it's predecessor had. Some of the jokes made me laugh this time around and, in my opinion, the music is better. Don't hate me for saying that; The Jungle Book franchise is notorious for having great music, I just feel this movie has better music.Bad: It feels pointless and vastly unnecessary. It is a sequel to a film fine on its own and that ended perfectly. As stated above, I believe this movie loses some of the charm from its predecessor. The human characters also don't have that much depth or many interesting characteristics. It also sadly suffers from the original's disease of 'poor climax' with this movie having slight improvements but failing overall.Best Part: The song with Baloo in the monkey's ruins.7/10
Eric Stevenson Back in the days when Disney was making all those bad direct-to-video sequels, they did manage to switch the formula around a bit...by releasing these would be sequels in theaters. There's just no reason at all for them to do this. Were they over budget and decided to just put one of these boring things in theaters? I know there's no way it'll ever be part of the Disney animated canon. If it was, this would probably be the worst entry in their entire series. This is why people are actually looking forward to a "Frozen" sequel in theaters. With the new grounds set by CGI, we actually have the ability to make the characters more three dimensional in every sense of the word. The story is just Mowgli getting into trouble and considering going back to the jungle. I'd much rather be watching "TaleSpin", arguably the most enjoyable version I have seen of this. I liked the original "Jungle Book" but it definitely isn't one of my favorite Disney movies. This may be why I'm so freaking eager to see that live-action version that's in theaters right know. I know for a fact it would be better than this. This is by no means an awful film, it just has no reason to exist whatsoever. The only redeeming qualities are the voice actors, which honestly do a pretty good job at everything. Tony Jay and John Goodman are lots of fun to listen to. It still ends the exact same way the original movie did, so there's no point in it.Thank you Disney, for discontinuing these bad sequels. I wouldn't make fun of them because I think they're some evil corporation. I would make fun of them because they occasionally make bad products. ** out of ****.
IndrajitGhosh The Jungle Book 2 is by far one of the worst sequels (whether Disney or Non-Disney) I have ever seen. It has a weak storyline, below average songs and terrible animation.I remember when I heard that there was going to be a sequel to the Jungle Book (one of my favourite Disney films), I was extremely excited: my excitement went to waste. What makes this film even worse is how great the first Jungle Book film was. I think the same can be said for most Disney sequels (e.g. Pocahontas 2, The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 etc).Quite frankly, I like to imagine that this sequel does not exist.
filmismagic This film is as awful as Little Mermaid 2. Maybe it is not so much like a remake, but the songs in this one are nothing like the first one's. The story in this one is bad too. So what if there are a few funny moments? Can that forgive the film. Hell, the animation in this one is even worse than in the original. The characters have little detail to their illustrations. I am very, very disappointed in Haley Joel Osment and John Goodman for working with this film. Two of the new characters, Shanti and Rajaan who are Mowgli's friends are very annoying. Shanti starts out at the end of the first as this beautiful girl whom Mowgli will share the rest of his life with. Then she becomes so annoying that you actually hate her! The voice acting is "okay". I expected more from the people though. A very insulting thing abut this sequel is that even though they sing the bare necessities. Haley Osment and John Goodman clearly have a gift in music, but as Mowgil and Baloo, they sing off tune in this song. This sad sequel is just another rip-off of a great film based on a well-known novel. This film should just be ignored.
