Micitype Pretty Good
Josephina Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Curt Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
dhavaljiya Friendship, sacrifice and the history all are depicted amazingly in this movie .the cinematography was the highlight of the movie.
adonis98-743-186503 Set during WWII, a story seen through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the eight-year-old son of the commandant at a German concentration camp, whose forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence has startling and unexpected consequences. Even tho The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is impressive in terms of story, characters and especially perfomances it was hard for me to finish it and it's definitely not a film that i can watch for a 2nd time especially that ending alone proves that. (7.5/10)
PrettyPrettyPrincess976 I remember when I first watched this movie. I never wanted to watch it, because I thought it was going to either A, in subtitles,(which I refuse to watch), because it makes my brain hurt. B, be something dumb, boring, and (wait for my apology please) meant for little kids under 4 to watch! I.. WAS.. COMPLETELY.. TAKEN.. ABACK.. I went to lay down and fall asleep to whatever was on TV,and this movie was on! I said to myself, whatever I'll be asleep soon. Within 15 mins. I was hooked. The cast was beyond brilliant. I know these stories have been told time and time again, but they never ever get less haunting or more horrifying. I cannot pick which scene is "favorite", because they all were astonishing. The little boys were fantastic! I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but my daughter and I love this movie. We watch this every single time it's on. I will say this, if I would've seen the poster for the movie, I probably would've never ever seen the movie. That would've definitely put me on the you should not watch that list!
Tony Van Duin Firstly I was very confused as to why a German family all had English accents, but gradually moved past it. Equally confusing was why a German family in Nazi Germany was praying Christian prayers, and when there Grandmother died there was a Catholic burial. It all pointed to a very modern understanding of the world, that was not accurate with how Nazi Germany was at the time. This kind of sanitation was very disappointing. Also, why wasn't the boy of an SS officer in the Hitler Youth, and well versed to Nazi propaganda? It seems the film maker either wasn't well read in history, or the more likely, they simply wanted to make it digestible to the audience. Such a shame if it is the latter.
