Morgan Spurlock subjects himself to a diet based only on McDonald's fast food three times a day for thirty days without exercising to try to prove why so many Americans are fat or obese. Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
invisibleunicornninja We had to watch this movie several times at school. Though most of my classmates are too stupid to understand the concept of fast food being unhealthy, this movie is well made and entertaining.
rpmasse-894-143365 Supersize Me is essentially a movie about a man who eats way too much every day for a month and gets fat. I would like to point out that eating 3k+ calories of ANYTHING every meal will make you fat. Morgan Spurlock offers no control group and his arbitrary method of accepting the offer to "Supersize" whenever asked has no clear purpose other than to prove McDonalds doesn't really ask that often. I would suggest to anyone who has watched this to also watch "Fathead." It offers insight into Spurlock's methodology for the film as well as poking some major flaws in his so called logic. To summarize, this movie does a great job of creating hate towards one of many players in the fast food industry, but it fails to properly educate and provide any useful facts.
webberrules This is a movie that I knew I had to watch at some point. It showcases Morgan Spurlock, the same man who directed this movie, eating food from McDonald's and McDonald's only for 30 days. The consequences include extreme cravings for fast food, an inactive sex life, an increased risk of a heart attack, depression, increased blood pressure, getting sick frequently, and extreme and frequent lethargy, thus leading to an early death. The negative effects of eating fast- food are not only health-related, they also increase negative body image, and I am a male becoming more conscious about my appearance. Other effects are financial, social and psychological. It also showcases that McDonald's is a multi-billion dollar corporation with restaurants in a multitude of countries around the world, including my home country, Australia. Another fact is junk-food companies make far, far more money than health food companies. It is like the media makes a lot more money by negative attention than positive attention. I will admit there was a surgery scene which I often find really difficult watch, because they are really disgusting sights, but I did not have very much trouble watching that scene. Why? The Blue Danube by Strauss made it much easier to watch, since that song is used a lot for comedic purposes. Now that I think of it that way, I find surgery scenes easier to watch than seeing cockroaches, since they look absolutely revolting by their anatomy, and when I see them move, it grosses me out even more, to the point that at best, I lose my appetite for hours and at worst, it makes me want to vomit violently. If you want to watch an entertaining and amusing documentary about fast-food and its negative effects, then this is the movie.Highly recommended.
Forest G After watching this documentary I really lost my appetite, I gave it 10 score at that time.I gave it 8 now, because now that I think again, you are not supposed to eat if you are already full and this guy eat three McD meals per day no matter what he felt. It's like forcing himself to get that result in the end..Yea I am bit skeptical., but I still think this is good documentary with a good message, but yea I don't think it is 100% legit. I would gladly changed my mind if somebody duplicate his experiment again. But in the end it has good message that we should do healthy diet, even if it's not 100% legit.
