I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Enjoyable, simple short (15 min) documentary of photographer Chris Killip showing his photos – taken over a series of years – of the tiny English fishing village of Skinningrove, and recounting the stories of the people behind the images. The film's very simplicity gives it it's power. In a very short time we get insight into a number of things - Killip as an artist, the feel of a town with a dying way of life, the role of the photographer and artist in documenting a changing world. Almereyda has always had an admirable ability to make interesting films about small details instead of huge drama, and he does so again here. Not bad for a 15 minute short!
