Wordiezett So much average
Micransix Crappy film
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
alex_doub_dude Like many of you, I grew up with Sailor Moon, so I was nothing short of excited when I heard about Sailor Moon movies! When I watched the Sailor Moon R movie I hoped that I could relive the thrill and excitement that I got when I watched this show when I was younger. That, however, was not the case. As it turns out, this movie is nothing more than an extended episode. At 60 minutes, it is hardly a movie, and after that 60 minutes I was left with a foul taste in my mouth. The writers felt it would be necessary to discard many laws of physics to make this plot slightly more spectacular than normal and as I watched Sailor Moon floating in open space I could bet that Einstein was rolling over in his grave.First of all, if you do watch this, watch the Japanese version. I absolutely could not stand Usagi's, I'm sorry, Serena's, voice in English. Though poor acting in a dub is to be expected, it is quite prevalent in this movie. As long as you watch the Japanese version this isn't an issue. As it is with any movie, the plot is the bread and butter. So, how was the plot you may wonder? Predictable as always. In fact, it made me want to puke. The love-will-conquer-all ending made me sick to my stomach and I felt ashamed to be watching it. I won't go into detail, but unless you are a die-hard Sailor Moon fan you will be displeased. A serious bone I have to pick with this is the lack of resolution. The movie seems to end abruptly with all the sailor soldiers floating on a rock in Earth's orbit. Perhaps the creators had to maintain their 60 minute time limit? If that was the case they could have just removed/shortened some of the attack/transformation scenes. I swear to God, if you added all the transformation and attack scenes together it would be over 5 minutes. It felt like filler, actually. Also, if the target demographic for this was children/young teens then whats with all the gay undertones? Quite funny, it was censored in the English version. The song was good, though. 1 star.
moon_angel2002 Sailormoon was created for kids, but adults can enjoy it too. The plot is unique, and all over the characters interesting and complex for a cartoon. The movie is definitely worth watching if your in the mood for a very good amine. Sure there are some lines that are a bit cheesy, but things are lost in translations. 4 1/2 out of 5 stars if you rate it by itself, and 4 out of 5 if you compare it to some of the other stuff that's out there.
simontemplar777 This movie teaches that the power of love is powerful enough to overcome many obstacles! There is something I really like about this movie and that is that it teaches two lessons. Firstly that love is a very strong feeling that helps anyone as I said before overcome many obstacles; and secondly that true friends are there when you need them, and they stick by you through thick and thin. Well this movie is highly recommendable for people of all ages. I hope when you watch it you like it as much as I did.
sailor_lilac After years of waiting, Sailor Moon fans of the US finally get to view the first of the three movies to be released outside of Japan. Proving that the wait was worth it, Sailor Moon R never fails to entertain and is absolutely breathtaking in it's animation. The story of Fiore and the evil flower Casinian (I probably spelled that wrong!) is well-written and action packed with plenty of attacks from our heroines the Sailor Scouts which proves that our scouts are always ready to save the day. The film also has romance but it isn't ultra-sugary compared to many animated films of today. This film is great for the old and young, male or female and should be view by all.
