Taraparain Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Eddie Cantillo Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) Starring:Katie Featherston, Kathryn Newton, Matt Shively, Aiden Lovekamp, Brady Allen, Stephen Dunham, Alexondra Lee, Georgica Pettus, Alisha Boe, and Brendon Eggertsen Directed by Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman Review It's closer than you think This had the writers and the directors of the last film which was the only good entire in this entire series and yet this movie managed to suck eggs, alright here we go again. Hello kiddies your pal the crypt-critic here and my god I don't know what to say about this piece of shriek. Because I freaking hate paranormal activity, I liked the last film as it was the only one with actual effort put into it but the others were complete crap. They consist of cameras videotaping retarded people that we don't care about as some invisible demon slams doors and moves bed sheets for two hours. If that's all you have going for you in your film then you have a lot of balls even calling it a film in the first place! The third at least had enjoyable characters, genuine scares, clever camera angles, and a way of integrating the demon that was not ingenious but also made sense. So yeah there's that one acceptable film but other that this series sucks! We have a fourth film and despite having the team of the last film it manages to be horrendous not as tedious or boring as the first two but still just as stupid. Paranormal Activity 4 follows a random family that had nothing to do with the other movies as the demon starts to stalk them. Why and how you ask, well I'm going try to explain this as simply as I can that crazy lady who took hunter at the end of part two is living on the street with a boy that isn't Hunter but for more then half the film were made to believe it's hunter until the boy for some reason dis sappers despite being the creepiest part of the film. When we learn this new retarded family adopted son is the real Hunter, which begs the question of how this possessed dummy lost Hunter in the first place and managed to end up with this family for some reason and now has to sacrifice a virgin which we can all tell is his adopted sister. It's pretty vague and you might not understand and the sister keeps recording everything on her laptop camera and when stuff starts happening going down in the house but her family doesn't believe her and yells at her a lot as she doesn't show them the footage on her laptop because she's a moron and she's got this boyfriend who's much more annoying then she is and he gets his necked snap by the possessed dummy who lives across the street during a bad camera angle and the movie ends with a demonic neighborhood army the possessed dummy eats the sisters face as the screen turns to black, leaving the entire audience unsatisfied. There I just described the whole movie for you in the most coherent way I possibly could, this was one big load of ass! Unlike the first two films it has a thread of a plot but nothing goes anywhere I basically had to trade more bad for less bored, I was bored in many scenes but at least the sheer stupidity of this made me laugh occasionally. There were really only three good things in this movie that creepy kid whose name I can't pronounce, secondly the one sequence were the possessed dummy runs at the blonde bimbo that was pretty creepy and I thought the XBOX dots were kind of a nice concept they barely did anything with it but the idea was just cool. Everything else is just garbage, the acting sucks, the characters are freaking idiots and the scares are barley there. It's just one bad consist thing after another there is hardly a damn thing to enjoy here and what I did enjoy was incredibly minor. I heard that there the marked ones and five and soon maybe six, NO!No more of this stuff no more! This franchise learned from there mistakes in part three but now it is right back where it started with this one. Give it up I am sick of this franchise what baffles me is that this the one universally hated by critics where were you people when the first two films were released I don't get you. The good thing is at least I saw this film for free on my Xbox. Overall here's what I've been trying to tell you since part one of this franchise I can't tell you what to watch all the time cause I doubt you listen but the point is your being hornswaggled, your being bamboozeled, your being tricked into going to see something you've already seen before and your being ripped off! Now listen to me if I can just stop two of you from seeing this movie then I will feel like I've done my job but if I can't do that then I got two words for you, Screw you, screw you, screw you! I give this piece of shriek a one and a half out of five.
suganthram I was eager to watch this movie because paranormal activity 2 and 3 were better than the reviews suggested and because of the curiosity to know what happened after PA2,only to find out that the movie is a horrible mess. The earlier movies did test my patience but the wait was worth it,but not in this movie. There was absolutely nothing in this movie that can be termed scary or freaky. And the logics were defied greatly... Katie abducted the child in PA2 but how did she miss him only to find him 5 years later?? Who were those bunch of people confronted by Alex before being killed in the climax...were they all possessed by the demon?? Only the last few minutes had some scary substance...but the rest is disappointing
David Arnold And so here we have the latest installment of the Paranormal Activity series, but unfortunately, this fourth one isn't as good as the other three. With this latest film we have fast-forwarded 5 years from the events that happened in Paranormal Activity 2 (this 4th film isn't a direct sequel to the 3rd movie) and we see what has become of baby Hunter and his "adopted" mother. Now, while there are some genuinely creepy moments in this film, they are actually quite lacking as they didn't have the same effect and punch as the scares in the other three movies. In saying that, however, I was pretty impressed with the scenes that involved the X-Box Kinect receiver during night-vision, and you actually got some of the best scares during those scenes as well I felt. Also, there's a pretty good (if somewhat slightly confusing) wee twist towards the end as well. The characters in the movie are all done pretty well, but they do get a bit annoying at times (some more than others), but one of the better characters was that of Robbie (played creepily by Brady Allen). Upon first viewing of him you have a kind of "poor wee misunderstood soul" feeling towards him, but that most definitely changes as the movie goes on. Katie was also much more creepy (and vicious) in this movie as well than any of the other installments. So, overall while I wasn't TOO disappointed with this latest installment, I think it could have been done better. It's still worth watching though, especially if you like the Paranormal Activity films.
Rickting Paranormal Activity is actually a terrible film. Paranormal Activity 2 was an extension of the first but mildly diverting. Paranormal Activity 3 was the best yet. Do we need another one? That's a resounding no. In the next instalment in the franchise which was stretched to breaking point ages ago, a new family are getting haunted by objects in their house going bump. Katie and Hunter from the others are now living near them. This extension of a not that great premise offers a few jumpy bumps and has a slightly scary finale but before that you have to get through 90 minutes of things going bump and bland webcam footage. This film is less jumpy than a punctured bouncy castle and another example of modern horror's damaging reliance on OTT jump scares. The only thing which gives this some sort of elevation is the fact that the characters are actually perfectly likable. Since barely anything genuinely frightening happens, there isn't such a huge question of 'Why aren't they turning off the camera?!'.The scares are bland, lifeless and repetitive. There's no build up at all; just loud noises and that's pretty much it. The acting is average to bad, and the plot is flat as well. I don't remember this well as it's just the same stuff getting repeated over and over again. The finale is the only effective part of the movie but since it makes no sense and leaves the door wide open for yet anther sequel, the impact is blunted. In general, it's just not scary or particularly well written. It's just bland and half hearted. You can tell that the only thing the film was made for is money. The makers didn't care about anything resembling quality, they just wanted to make loads of money without spending loads of money. They succeeded, which is why we had Paranormal Activity The Marked Ones this year and now have Paranormal Activity 5 to look forward to next year. I'm dome with Paranormal Activity. I would advise the rest of you to bail on this franchise as well. This is a lame, lazy attempt to make a profit which barely raises a gasp, and doesn't deserve the cash.2/10
