Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
Caryl It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
cricketbat One Missed Call does not suffer from really poor acting or bad special effects. In fact, this movie has some really creepy visuals and a pretty cool premise. However, it suffers because the writing is awful. They treat the audience like a bunch of 5-year-olds and spell simple plot points out so we can understand what is going on. Then it moves along in a series of disjointed scenes while giving us no real emotional connection to the characters - so we really don't care when they're killed off.
Chie My best friend and I watched this movie at a sleepover, and were both utterly disappointed. I don't know if anyone has already mentioned Final Destination, but I imagine it's better than this. (And I haven't even wasted my time on THOSE movies!) This movie is just useless gore with no real point, but it's worse than any slasher I've ever seen because it presents itself like it'll have a point. Wow. I almost fell asleep watching it, and I was sitting on a hardwood floor at 6:00 PM. Please do just spare yourself and do not waste your time.ONE MISSED CALL~Chie~
jtungsten16 One Missed call is my favorite horror movie! I don't know why I'm reading any bad reviews about this movie. I think the acting, directing, writing and music in the film was superb. People really need to watch this movie and not listen to bad reviews because they will not be disappointed it entertains you from beginning to end and even has a twist. One Missed Call is definitely is a movie not to be missed. Ed Burns and Shannon have great chemistry and that was the only thing that disappointed me was that they never got together. One Missed Call is one of those horror movies that stick with you, especially because everyone has a cell phone and gets One Missed Call at least once everyday! So please people give One a Missed Call a chance I think you will be glad you did.
SnoopyStyle People receive voice mails from the dead with messages of their deaths in the near future showing the time and date. Leann Cole (Azura Skye)'s friend Shelley dies in a supernatural drowning. Leann receives a call from Shelley with a voice mail of her death. She starts to have bizarre visions and she gets killed by supernatural forces while on the phone with her friend Beth Raymond (Shannyn Sossamon). Beth's boyfriend Brian Sousa (Johnny Lewis) had also gotten a phone call and gets killed. Det. Jack Andrews (Edward Burns) is investigating after the death of his sister which seems to be linked. Then Beth's roommate Taylor Anthony (Ana Claudia Talancón) receives the call. TV producer Ted Summers (Ray Wise) comes sniffing around. It's yet another American remake of a Japanese horror movie. The CGI is weak. It would be much better to use real effects more. Instead of CGI bugs, they should use try and true real bugs. There is a general lack of horror atmosphere. The movie shows all of its tricks rather early with Leann's death. It doesn't leave much for the rest. It basically grinds on and on with a boring investigation. Sossamon tries her jumpy best, but the movie never really ramps up the thrills.
