Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
Vashirdfel Simply A Masterpiece
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
generationofswine Which one was this? I can't really remember. I do, however, know it was the movie where they hire a lot of women and require them all to take their clothes off.I recall a shower scene in there somewhere. And then I remember the women running around screaming in undies that are really only worn in the bedroom. Was there a plot? Not really, it was just an excuse for nudity and undies. But, you already knew all of that when you sat down to watch this. Because, honestly in film making, they aren't really trying to pass it off as anything other than an excuse to film young naked breasts and you don't really get anything but that. This one has the geek factor...in the form of fratboys, I guess they wanted to give it a twist ala Revenge of the Nerds. So, why are you reading this? You know exactly what this movie is about. You knew that before you even clicked on this review. But, at least the review is as honest as the movie. If you are expecting more than that, there is something seriously wrong with you.
jadavix "Nightmare Sisters" is a harmless, enjoyable b-movie which is more sex comedy than horror. I don't think it's even intended to be scary, and there is very little violence, but a lot of nudity and humour. The movie gets off to a shaky start with an obviously Caucasian man playing an Indian fortune teller, and doing the worst Indian accent since Peter Sellers. Why would a fortune teller be Indian, anyway? Somehow the crystal ball gets possessed, and then finds its way into the hands of three dorky sorority sisters. These three are played by the holy trinity of b-movie scream queens, Linnea Quigley, Michelle Bauer and Brinke Stevens. They begin the movie as stereotypically unattractive college co-eds. Brinke has borrowed Jeffrey Dahmer's glasses, Michelle Bauer is dressed up to look fat, and Linnea Quigley is wearing false buck teeth which actually only accentuate her beauty. Detractors might claim that we're only fans of Quigley, Stevens and Bauer because they're hot and get naked. This movie, along with most of their movies, showcases the charisma and talent they actually brought to the screen. Their portrayals here are funny and likable.Their nerdy male counterparts come over for a party the girls are possessed when they use the crystal ball in a seance (don't seances require ouija boards?) At first the girls turn sexy - and semi naked - but then they get a touch demonic, and a hilarious exorcist arrives to save the day.David DeCoteau seems to me to be a rarity among b-film makers. Going by any of his recent efforts, a strong case could be made that he is the worst filmmaker who ever lived. However, watching his '80s films like this one, one realises that he actually had some degree of know-how when he started out. I mean, obviously this isn't Citizen Kane, but it's actually pretty good. Now, his movies are just excuses to indulge in his tighty whitie fetish. Who keeps paying him to make movies? Who keeps watching them?
Der_Schnibbler Oh man, what a lame film. Not because it's a b-movie, or 'cause it was cheap or didn't have effect or top notch actors, but because it was just the most lifeless, annoying, intentionally naive piece of crap ever. It was more boring than "Babes at the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama." Just childish. It also has the three ugliest pair of breasts you'll ever see. What was WRONG with those three women? Quigley's breasts look... just weird... The other one was scrawny and off-putting... Only the tall one had a sweet face, but her rigid, doctored funbags were just disturbing to stare at.I never thought a film would succeed in making three naked girls in a bathtub boring, but wow, did it ever succeed. They just keep touching themselves and rubbing their breasts over and over and over.. and over.. AND OVER... IT NEVER ENDS... It's the most boring, unpassionate thing in the world. Nothing sexy about it, oh man, I was praying the scene would cut. In the beginning too, it's the same deal. The first third of the film is made up of three ten-minute scenes, where they just plant the camera and let the "actors" talk. And talk. AND TALK. Make iT STOP!!!
FleshAndTheFiends Out of the hundreds (maybe even thousands!) of actresses out there who try to claim the title "Scream Queen," Linnea Quigley, Michelle Bauer and Brinke Stevens are probably the best. How else can you explain how their mere presence enables you to sit through something as horrid, as plot less and as pointless as Nightmare Sisters? Don't get me wrong, this movie is horrible in almost every way and is really an insult to horror movie fans everywhere. But I gave it a "5" anyway and that's only because of the three leading ladies and their ability to enliven even the most atrocious film. They get to goof off here at the beginning (there's one incredibly amateurish unbroken 'talking' shot that lasts about 10 minutes) and then basically spend the rest of the film running around naked after they are possessed by a demon. There's also a long drawn-out nude bathtub scene, but watching the girls just sitting there giggling, splashing water and looking like they are having a great time rubs off on the viewer and becomes enjoyable. It's a much sexier and more natural scene than what we B-movie fans would later encounter in Skinamax porn - you know long, dead serious, fake-looking, awkward simu-sex. So if you love Linnea, Michelle and/or Brinke, this makes a nice addition to your DVD collection. Otherwise it will be one of the most grueling viewing experiences you will ever encounter.
