CheerupSilver Very Cool!!!
Pluskylang Great Film overall
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Lythas_85 From all the other netflix's shows.. this one if close to Iron First in terms of boredom. Like another review said, Luke is too overpowered and there's no reason whatsoever why he did not just cleaned up house in the first or second episodes.. nobody, I mean.. it's shown that nobody and nothing can stop him.. but he just runs around kicking some random bad guys' asses and at least in the first 3 episodes.. getting told what to do by his annoying superhero groupie girlfriend Claire.. funny thing is that when it's a guy telling a female lead what to do or how to behave, she usually either bluntly tells him to take a hike or just kicks his ass.. but when it's the opposite the guy just takes the nagging over and over..Moreover, I just don't what Luke's motivation is.. and there's not much action since he ain't a martial artist like Iron First and Daredevil... he just takes a few gunshots and then punch someone and fight is over..And the plots are all over the place.. jamaican guys smoking something.. the black woman doing who knows what maybe trying to get rich.. and misty trying to adjust to her new reality.. I think her storyline is the most interesting of all.. cause it's normal and we can relate somehow..Anyway, let's hope it gets a bit better later on
thewadehome Season 1 was ok, kept me interested enough to watch the second. Season two. Wow. Bad does not begin to cover it. Not Luke himself, who gives a pretty good representation of the character as he did in season 1. Actually no, really, a good representation. The story is pretty good too and reasonably compelling. The problem is everything else. The acting, generally, is horrible. Luke's Pops is good, Luke is good. Everyone else, and I mean EVERYONE is a horrendous caricature. Bushmaster is laughable, overacted and under developed. Mariah, damn, I love Alfre Woodward, but she is a 65 year old woman trying to play a sexy madam to a 40 year-old toyboy and she looks, walks and talks every day of her age. It's not the age difference, though, it's that she ACTS old. I mean, old lady old, it's simply not believable. Horribly overacted and distractingly bad.I can't figure out if it's the writing or the acting or both but either way this is a mess. The direction, at times, is very obviously to blame, at other times the editing actually made me laugh out loud but generally writing and acting are awful. After a fantastic start with Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage season 1 Marvel are starting to lose the plot. Iron Fist was terrible, Defenders barely better and this the worst yet. It's a shame because it all started with great potential.Tie it into the movies better, introduce Spidey, F4 and other NY based good and bad guys and it may survive but if it continues this way the TV universe is as good as dead.
bordeaux-51625 I actually created this account just to write this review. Im so dissapointed in the direction the series has been taken. I dont know if its a new director or new scripwriters but something has changed! For the worse. It starts of pretty good, it has a good way of drawing you back into that marvel series frame of mind and world that includes the other great characters they have to offer. But slowly the warning signs start to show. The biggest one right from the start was when Luke Cage declares the city is his and if anybody wants to test him for it they should come find him. He finishes off this statement with a dab. I just facepalmed my hand, seriously who actually wrote this. Who made this actor feel like that was a cool thing to add. And this series is just a big super sized bag of cheesy wotsits (what we have in the UK) lol it just dont stop. So many cheesy one liners. Akward acting between this love romance of shadez and mariah. Every second! there is a moment where shadez is thrusting his groin at her just to have a conversation. The list goes on.. But i will finish it with this. This has to be the worst on screen attempt of a jamaican accent i have seen to date. The actors attempts at patwa is horrendous but to be fair bushmaster and his uncle do a pretty good job so props for that but hearing misty knight saying "wagwaan" makes me want to turn this thing off. So in conclusion not at all good but if your already a fan of the previous then obviously you have to watch to keep up with the everyhthing. But seriously if i have to watch another unimaginitive and unwarranted random fight scene on a bridge or somewhere silly again im done. "Wagwaan" with you marvel -_- Peace
Jer Vas I couldn't give it one star because I laughed genuinely at so many poorly written, acted, and filmed scenes. Like a soap opera gone wild. And I like Knight Hawk's title, I thought Cage's punches and moves were among the funniest parts: The actor is seemingly so very uncoordinated! Great guy I'm sure, strong as hell in real life and all that... Cripes though, were some of those "fight" scenes hokey or what?. As were Mariah's scenes (all of them, every last one). Oooh - and the music interludes... Starting to chuckle writing this. Maybe I should give it another star.
