Instead of really living her life since losing her mother at age 7, Seattle lawyer Amy Myer sticks to a foolproof 'timeline' her mother drew as a guideline to help plot the course of her life. The timeline, which proves to be accurate in all other respects, predicts that Amy should marry her seventh boyfriend. However, Amy must question her instincts when she feels that her sixth boyfriend is the one she should marry, not the predicted seventh. Now she must decide whether to follow her mother's advice, or follow her own heart.

Desertman84 Lucky 7 is a made-for-TV movie that stars Patrick Dempsey and Kimberly Williams-Paisley together with Brad Rowe,Brian Markinson and Gail O'Grady.Growing up to become a prominent Seattle lawyer, Amy has never gone wrong following her late mother's advice. Crucial to the time line is her quest for the perfect husband. As pre-determined by her mom, the lucky man will have to be Amy's seventh boyfriend. Unfortunately, Amy has fallen deeply in love with Boyfriend Number Six, a good-looking, if somewhat pompous, young blade named Daniel. So as not to upset the continuum, Amy must shop around for an "alternate" number six, enabling Daniel to emerge as number seven. The man ultimately chosen for the express purpose of being dumped by Amy is Peter Connor, a former Wall Street broker now running a small bagel store. This is a TV movie that is delightful and entertaining as the lead character,Amy learns to follow her heart.Although it is far from a masterpiece,it will manage to make the viewer laugh, happy and forget momentarily the problems and stress one is facing in life.
maudie_ruth121 Bored on a Sunday afternoon, I chose to watch this movie on cable. As it turns out, the flick was good but not great. Basically it is a typical cable movie where guy likes girl, girl ignores him & dates another, guy asks her out, romantic high jinks ensue. The film begins with a 7 1/2 year old Amy painting in the dining room. Eventually she heads out to the patio and has a sweet talk with her dying mother. It is here that her mother offers a time line for Amy to follow as she grows older, including the idea that Amy marry boyfriend number 7. Then the movie segues to Amy, aged 27. Now she's a lawyer who hates her job and is still clinging to her mothers "guide to life." Soon, we meet Peter the Bagel Boy & David. Naturally a love triangle follows and boyfriend number 6 wins.At times Amy simply annoyed me with her twenty-year-old obsession withe the timeline & David appeared too perfect. However, I did like Peter, as his character appeared to be the most realistic. If you're looking for a light and fluffy way to pass an hour or so, go ahead and watch. Otherwise, get off the couch and vacuum or take a nap.
FilmLabRat I didn't realize this was a TV movie - it seemed like an above-average theatrical. The casting and acting were good (even featuring hotties), although unknown actors, and the story was interesting. Very surprisingly fun, well-made and even thought-provoking.
hitchcockafficionado I seem to remember Kimberly Williams in The 10th Kingdom which was good and Patrick Dempsey in Can't Buy Me Love which was ok too, but this movie... it lacked development, as many "cram into a two hour spot" movies do, but if you don't have anything to watch on tv, you might as well turn this on. Even though pieces of the plot may be missing from time to time, its a generally cute story of a girl who tries to follow her life strictly set by her dying mother before she dies.
