Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Beanbioca As Good As It Gets
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
jasperan I like how, every time I watch this movie as I get older, it makes more and more sense to me, as I relate more and more with Keira's character. I wish to be as happy as she is and as careless about the world when she is laying low.
krisjim-117-209826 Watched about 40 minutes, then wondered *WHY* I watched for that long at all. This is a 'comedy' that lacks any memorable jokes, one-liners, pratfalls or funny scenes of any kind. Not much in the way of decent character development or plotline - just scenes of stale, meandering dialogue between cast members who all have the same personality - emotionally stunted, juvenile, losers. Pass this one up.
patc-5 Full disclosure... Seattle is kind of my second home and I became aware of Lynn Shelton as she is one of the key figures in the movie scene there. So I am in the local cheering section but her and the Duplass brothers have put Seattle on the movie map. I think she has a good comedic sense and can evoke really lovely scenes from her female leads. John Huston said that if you cast a movie right the director doesn't have much to do and in this case the movie is brilliantly cast. All of the characters feel real and Keira Knightley is excellent. Chloë Grace Moretz and her are a real treat to watch. This movie is huge fun and deals with real issues in today's world. Isn't that what cinema is supposed to be about?! Why can't a movie like this open on 3000 screens instead of some regurgitated 'lets pretend' super hero drivel? Oh and the scene with Kiera as the street sales sign spinner is worth the price of admission.
Troy Putland A young-looking-for-her-age Keira Knightley suffers with Peter Pan syndrome, running away from responsibilities. When marriage becomes an option, she bolts from her fiancé, hiding from him at a new friend's place. This friend is a high-schooler (Moretz), well under Knightley's age but level with her maturity. Comfort's hard to come by in Say When (that's Laggies in America), especially in its lead lady. It does, however, come from Moretz's dad Sam Rockwell. He's the heart and soul amongst a barren wasteland of stale, lifeless characters. This is a romantic-comedy with little romance and hardly any comedy (unless it comes from Rockwell). When romance does come, it's almost over, and whoever's stuck it through to the end probably doesn't care.
