Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Rehmaan Fatahu Salman Khan was a typical action hero, who has many fans following across the world. Now he is doing typical masala entertainer film that we have seen so many times. He wants to entertain us to enjoy with family, kids and friends. Salman is doing another commercial entertainer film, which was a remake of Ravi Teja's earlier film Kick. When i watched Kick, it didn't fulfilled my expectations, I was disappointed, I have a lot of expectations to the movie, specially the story is not good, I was expecting something else, because even through i was expecting a much more crisper story line, a much more captivating and fascinating story line. But it wasn't there in the film. Normally i was expecting a proper action thriller film like only a serious action film with realistic stunts. But now it was a typical action film which has over the top action stunts when people was flying, there was no gravity and realism. First of all, the first half was OK-sh, it has great funny moments, Salman was good but sometimes, he was overacting in some scenes, that overact scenes was similar to Ravi Teja in Kick. But Salman Khan was playing almost like a thief who wants to steal the money. The character was well-design but there are some portions of the film, he is a thief, of course, that it has to be someone like ruthless, someone is very smart and fearless that he can do anything to do his own stuff like if they faced someone, they was able to kill him at the middle of the film, but in this film, there was showing that his sides. You felt almost believable, which means you felt like OK he is not a proper thief, he is like a genuine person that he helps the children to save the kid in which his parents commit suicide. So they could have done a bit better characterization of Salman Khan. And Jacqueline Fernandez's characterization was good, again they could have done a bit better writing and characterization of Jacqueline Fernandez's portion. The rest of the actors like Randeep Hooda, he was amazing, his acting as a cop was very good and he did a good job. Nawazuddin Siddiqui also was amazing and brilliant in this film. His villain character was excellent and as a negative role, the way he deliver his dialogue, it was good. The positive parts of the film is the performances. Salman Khan was very good, as I said there are some scenes, he overacts but the rest of the scenes, he did a good job in Kick, especially his fights, facial expressions and dance was excellent. There was also when he was funny and angry. He can performed as well. Salman is good performer and entertainer, we all know that. He is also a singer. For the second time, she is singing a song in Kick after Hello Brother (1999). For his character portrayal is that Salman is not actually a bad person, he is actually someone, that helps children to celebrate the Children's day, he is also a happy go lucky guy that he is looking for adventure, thrill, fun and kick. He is not a villain actually. In the film, there were showing that, Salman Khan is playing that Devil is actually a good person. Jacqueline Fernandez did a decent job, she doesn't really improved her acting in this film. She a bit overacting but even through, she has an important role in this film. Her acting was average. She has the same facial expression in Housefull 2 and she doesn't pulled off her acting. But hopefully she can prove her acting and get a better performance from her in the future. Nargis Fakhri as the item girl, we have seen her as a dancer, she is good. As well as that, Randeep Hooda, the right person in this film without being too over-exaggerated to play a police officer, he did a excellent job. I like the fact they chose a better actor to play a cop. That's why I loved his acting, Randeep Hooda is almost overshadowed Salman Khan. But this film is all about Megastar Salman Khan, anyway but Randeep Hooda is playing a pivotal role to face Salman Khan. And Nawazuddin Siddiqui is good, his acting as a negative role is excellent. The only person in this film without being established themselves and over-exaggerated to play a villain. But even through, he is the antagonist in this film, Nawazuddin did a great job. He is one of the most underrated actor in Bollywood film industry that he can do any roles. As an actor, he proved himself and his acting is always good. After the positive parts, so now, lets talk about the negative parts Of This film. Mostly why I didn't like about the film is the writing and the screenplay, that was a big letdown. To was the climax scene, Salman Khan is now become a genuine person and the police officer without telling the true identity. That's why the director didn't well is the writing and the screenplay of the film. So Sajid Nadiadwala should do only a producer and distribution of the film. The story could have been a lot better, but again, the plot was the same typical story that the villain confronted the hero and the hero fights the villain. So the story should have done a lot better. The action sequences is good, again it could have been done better on the action sequences. It was realistic and over the top at the same time, but it was bit cheesy. So the action choreographer could have been made a better action stunts in this film. The songs are very good, it was very well placed especially Jumme Ki Raat, Yaar Na Miley and Hangover. Hangover was sung by Salman, he sings very well. He proves himself as a singer. Yo Yo raps the song Yaar Na Miley. His rap is also good. Jumme Ki Raat made everyone dancing in every parties. Of course, all the songs of the film became popular. Overall, Kick is a below average movie with typical clichéd story and decent acting performances. Only Nawazuddin, Salman and Randeep was excellent. But that's all, they was nothing else, nothing new and special. You guys can watch this film without any expectations. But in my opinion, it's a one time watch movie. If you a big Salman Khan fan, you can watch this movie. If you want this kind of movie, just watch it, if you love it.
mlaso-1 Watched it a friend's, there was virtually no way to escape without being rude. I had to take several breaks to endure it to the end. After the ordeal, I can say Kick is an incredibly poor and unbelievably cheesy movie. The script is rubbish, SK's acting skills are nonexistent. He is so bad that one feels embarrassed several times during the film. He can't dance (he moves like a wooden Tinkertoy Pinocchio) let alone act.The plot is obvious and nonsensical, with major continuity and just plain logical flaws. It shamelessly pulls all the stops of Bollymasala (melodrama, stupid baddies, heroic megastar with a weak spot for children, gaudy interiors, idealized in-laws, etc). The result is a well-orchestrated paean of praise for one of the worst actors ever to appear on any screen on this planet: SK. If I were he, I would feel so embarrassed I would not leave my apartment in the next 100 years. But, no, he must have a colossal ego and be refractory to criticism. Unbelievable Kick was such a box office success. An acceptable Randeep Hooda did his best to help save the boat, to no avail. Miserable movie.
bobbysing First addressing the people interested in slamming it down due to its avoidable minuses, yes the film defies all logics as always seen in a typical Hindi film aiming at entertaining its larger section of viewers, ignoring the others. It doesn't offer any fresh or unpredictable storyline taking the easy path. Has a longer length with few unwanted scenes and mediocre songs thrown in uselessly hindering its otherwise likable progression. Takes too long to come to its actual story plot. Has few close resemblances to films like THE GENTLEMAN, KRISHH and DHOOM, whereas is yet another remake of a South hit with the same title KICK (Telugu) released in 2009. And needless to say has Salman Khan in almost every frame of the film right till its last minute as desired by his die-hard fans who have fondly given him the title of BHAI.But having said that, KICK still cannot be rated as anything bad or ridiculous despite having all the above mentioned hiccups in its around 145 minutes of duration. And the reason behind this contradiction is that the film does have a breezy entertaining feel maintained till its impressive climax, has few enjoyable sequences coming in at regular intervals performed well by all the known faces and it holds you on firmly through some superbly written dialogues by Rajat Aroraa. To give you a fair idea, KICK has no cheap sequences, objectionable lines or cheeky avoidable humour as seen in many of Salman's recent films including JAI HO. It doesn't drag after a while and keeps progressing at a brisk pace, though having all those unwanted songs and sequences adding to its extra length. It doesn't go into that silly & boring 'Love Angle' mode as the latest sequels of KRRISH and DHOOM do. Keeps the much needed fun element intact even till its finale leaving you with all positive vibes. And more importantly this is one of those rare films where Salman Khan doesn't take off his shirt in any of his last minute fights breaking his own set norm religiously followed in the last few years.Besides where Salman successfully manages to keep you hooked in the first half along with Randeep Hooda & Jacquelin, there Nawazzudin Siddiqui comes in to provide his big noteworthy support post intermission keeping the energy going. And saying the bitter truth, both Randeep and Nawazuddin frankly can be called the second source of oxygen to this latest Salman Khan movie made on a weak premise. In addition, KICK also gets some valuable strength from its entertaining supporting acts led by Sanjay Mishra in his only scene at the Police Station, Mithun Chakraborty as the spirited father, Saurabh Shukla as the girl's pa, Archana Puransingh in her one scene playing the loud mother, Kavin Dave-Sumona in the film's opening chase sequence and Vipin Sharma as the enjoyable, annoyed minister towards the end.Plus two other thankful saviors of KICK are that this time the lead actress doesn't tease you at all due to her calm & pleasing appearance (ignoring her diction) and the lead actor i.e. Salman doesn't look like an arrogant, over confident star performing the role at his own will, ignoring any specific demand of his actual character written in the script. In other words KICK has the Salman Khan we saw in WANTED & DABANGG, but not the one witnessed in READY, BODYGUARD, EK THA TIGER or DABANGG 2 to be precise. Moreover it's the unexpectedly surprising debut achievement by the director-producer Sajid Nadiadwala which simply makes you think that why Sajid didn't opt for direction in all these years for any of Salman's film, since he has actually managed to deliver a much better product than many renowned directors of the industry, unarguably. Anyway a good start has been made with a bang and I hope he will give us much better films in the future which would ideally be based on some original scripts and not just be the routine remakes of the south following the easier path. Interestingly one fight sequence in its first half has been straight away taken from Prakash Mehra - Amitabh Bachchan's SHARAABI released in 1984. And I would really like to know that whether it was unintentional or Sajid actually wished to pay a tribute to the master film-maker in his very first venture.Coming back to KICK, cinematography & action gives an international look to the film, especially post intermission in its actions sequences and background score keeps the tempo high as required. Sadly the soundtrack remains the weakest link of the film once again and one or two catchy hit songs could have easily taken the project to another level altogether. Here the point to be noted is that the original Telugu movie does have few melodious upbeat tracks composed well. So I wonder why they didn't go for the official rights of those songs only, following the ROWDY RATHORE route playing it safe. Now apart from the commercial aspect, the one thing I would personally like to appreciate here is that since his last two attempts, Salman is trying to give a social message through his films fulfilling his moral responsibility towards the people being their loving celebrity. Unfortunately he failed to give that message impressively in JAI HO but has once again tried to do the same in KICK. And I hope this time the message reaches the maximum, encouraging them all to find their individual KICK of life, before the time is over.Summing up, I would like to rate KICK as a much better movie than KRRISH 3, DHOOM 3 or even EK THA TIGER in terms of entertainment. So Salman is definitely here to get a bigger Iddi this festive season along with Randeep and Nawazuddin loudly claiming their respective shares too.
RK Entertainment We all know Salman Khan has an effect on the audience that creates a momentum, which once again it proved to be success for him in Kick!Salman Khan, as Devi Lal Singh, gave us humor, action, drama, tears, and pure masala for Bollywood movie, and in all that masala, he was able to give us the message by using his "Being Human," that giving back to society provides you with inner peace. The whole movie was based on him and his message, the actress, Jacqueline, was basically there for songs. Her role didn't have much to do with the movie or the story, unlike Randeep Hoonda, who had a much bigger role. Randeep did pretty good job with his role, who only saw back or white, right or wrong, but nothing in the middle. Nawazuddin Siddique, did an awesome job with his "maniacal" aspect. His dialogues with mixture of song lyrics gave the movie a softer aspect, instead of cruelty. Songs were OK, the WOW factor song could be Hangover (which I loved) and Jume Ki Raat (that was OK)!
